In the information age,children's educational toys are becoming increasingly intelligent.With the implementation of the two-child policy,child population is increasing year by year,and the family's spending on children's toys will also increase continuously.It is a significant trend in future development of children's toy products to develop sharable,sustainable toys which combine entertainment and puzzle.In developed countries,children's 3D printer has taken a certain market share as an educational toy,which however in domestic market,children's 3D printer is just started.Market research and user research show that existing children's 3D printers have failed to fully consider user demand.There are problems such as difficult interface,simplex product color,less attractive shape and so on.Developing children's 3D printers that can meet user demand and improve user satisfaction by applying design methodology has dual significance in both theory and practice of design innovation.This paper studies the design of children's 3D printer with application of design affairology.Firstly,the literature related to children's physical and mental characteristics,children's toy properties and children's 3D printer was sorted out to establish a preliminary design idea.Secondly,it focuses on the in-depth study of external and internal factors with design affairology.Based on the user data collected through questionnaire survey,it analyzes the obtained data through KANO model to grasp users' functional requirements for children's 3D printer.The questions in the KANO model were screened for second questionnaire survey,and the conjoint analysis method was used to confirm the key points of users' preference for the functions of children's 3D printer.Then,it summarizes the needs and preferences of users,determines the design orientation of children's 3D printer,develops the conceptual design scheme,and expresses the display effect of the design scheme through 3D modeling(PROE)and rendering(KEYSHORT).Finally,the principle model is assembled,and children's 3D printer APP is created on Android Studio software.The usability of children's 3D printer is verified by user test.To sum up,the contributions of this study are as follows:(1)With the application of design affairology,this paper analyzes the external and internal factors of children's 3D printer system to find out the design opportunities of children's 3D printer and provide a new structural thinking of product development and design orientation for children's puzzle toy design.(2)Under the guidance of the affairology methodology,the design practice of children's 3D printer is carried out,and the theoretical value of design affairology is verified by the detailed description of the practice process and the usability test for users.(3)The KANO model and conjoint analysis method are used to conduct user research,discover user needs and preferences,propose design schemes,and solve target problems.With affairology methodology as the innovative thinking,the design paradigm of multiple methods provides a new practical attempt for the design of children's toy products.
