As a special group during the World War I,"Comfort women" began to be paid attention to after nearly two decades after the war.In the process of forming its collective memory,the construction of the media plays an important role.This paper bases on the all the relevant reports on People's Daily from the first appeared the "comfort women" reported to the end of 2016(for a total of 55 years),and explores the domestic "comfort women" collective memory of the presentation and changes and the relation with reality from the perspective of national discourse.By analyzing different texts and events,overall statistics and specific content,discourse of the case,this article discusses how the People's Daily constructs the collective memory of "comfort women" and what kind of memory it is,from both content and form.On the other hand,the collective memory of "comfort women" constructed by People's Daily is inseparable from the national consciousness and realistic demands.Therefore,this paper investigates the construction features of different periods(the peak periods as the representative)to explore the realistic intentions and meanings behind the text.The study found out that the collective memory of the "comfort women" constructed by People's Daily focus on national resistance history,collective significance and the current demands,which inevitably shows politicized memory characteristics.The process of construction shows from negative to positive.Based on the development and its public concerns,while it's synchronized with the national awareness and ideology.As representative of national discourse,People's Daily's reports reflect its responsibility,although reflect some limitations at the same time,the individual attention is not high,for example.
