The Northeast region has a very important position in the economic and social development of our country. It has made great contributions to the establishment of a relatively independent and complete industrial and national economic system in the early days of the founding of New China, and contributed to the economic and social development of our country and subsequent modernization.Provides a valuable material basis. However, with the establishment and deepening of my country's market economic system in the 1990 s,the system and structural contradictions in the Northeast region have become increasingly apparent, and they have fallen into a predicament in the Northeast. In 2003,my country put forward a new regional development strategy for revitalizing the old industrial base in Northeast China, and achieved a series of positive results. However, with the rapid development and transformation and upgrading of China's economy, the ability of the Northeast region's economy to adapt to the new normal is obviously insufficient, and a series of problems such as slow economic growth have appeared. At the end of 2015,with the proposal of a new round of Northeast revitalization planning policies, the economic development of Northeast my country has once again received widespread social attention. In the new era,Northeast China has followed the trend of reform and development and ushered in new historical development opportunities. In the past five years, many policies and plans have been promulgated to boost the development of the Northeast region's economy.Along with this, mainstream financial media represented by "Economic Daily" and "Economic Observer" also reported on the economic development of the Northeast region. So what is the economic image of the Northeast region that the mainstream financial media, which is used to reporting news from a professional perspective, present to a broad audience? What are the characteristics of news texts covering Northeast China? The two newspapers' features, deficiencies, and room for improvement in Northeast Economic Reporting are all questions to be explored in this thesis. This study selects "Economic Daily" and "Economic Observer" as samples, and the time span is from January 1,2016 to December 31,2020,for a total of five years.Through content analysis of the Northeast economic reports of the two newspapers over the past five years,it can be seen that economic reports on the Northeast region have become a regular topic of mainstream financial newspapers, and both newspapers have devoted a considerable amount of space to report on the Northeast region's economy. The two newspapers have their own emphasis on the topic setting of economic reporting in the Northeast region, and they are not the same.Party newspapers and commercial newspapers have different reporting characteristics for Northeast economic reports. At the same time, this article finds that there are more positive reports on Northeast economic reports, and the role of public opinion supervision is weak;the narrative is mainly written and the presentation form is single;the reporting tendency is obvious, and the Northeast economic image is negative;the scope of topic selection is narrow, focusing on enterprises Reporting and other issues.Based on the above analysis, this article puts forward five levels of optimization suggestions for financial media's economic reporting in Northeast China: First, balance the reporting tendency and tell the Northeast's development story;second, expand the types of topics to present a multi-faceted Northeast economy;Third, enrich the reporting form and strengthen the reporting effect;fourth, focus on multiple reporting perspectives, with equal emphasis on authority and practicality;fifth, expand Internet communication channels, taking into account diversity and interactivity.
