Over the past 40 years of reform and opening up,the Library science knowledge system has been developing,adjusting and changing.So far,there is still no consensus on the meta issues of Library science,such as research object,theoretical basis,subject attribute,etc.The main reason is that the core knowledge of this subject is still lack of basic identity.The core knowledge of Library science is not only the most essential knowledge of the subject,but also the foundation for the survival and development of Library science.It has the most characteristics of Library science and deeply embodies the essential pursuit and social value of Library science.Clarifying the core knowledge of Library science is helpful to deepen academic research,clarify the current situation of development,lead the course of the discipline,and also has important guiding significance for the development of librarianship.In order to explore the content of core knowledge of Library science objectively and comprehensively,the development process of core knowledge system of Library science in the past 40 years is divided into three different historical periods.Starting from the two dimensions and four aspects of research object,theoretical system,research topic and professional core curriculum of Library science,this paper adopts the methods of historical literature,history and logic.This paper expounds and combs the evolution of the core knowledge of Library science from the late 1970 s to the late1980 s,the early 1990 s to the late 1990 s and the beginning of the 21 st century to the present.Through the method of comparative analysis,this paper systematically compares and analyzes the changes of the core knowledge of Library science in three historical periods and four aspects,and preliminarily outlines the core knowledge system of contemporary Library science,which is divided into three levels: the core level,the middle level and the peripheral level.The "core layer" includes: the basic theory of Library science and the construction principle of librarianship are relatively stable knowledge.The "middle layer" includes: bibliography,historical Library science,applied Library science and other knowledge.The "peripheral layer" mainly includes the information technology knowledge which is directly and closely related to the Library science discipline construction and librarianship practice.On this basis,this paper reveals the causes of the changes in the core knowledge of Library science since the reform and opening up,and makes some reflections on the current situation.Library science should adhere to the development of both theoretical research and applied research,and adhere to the dialectical unity of the relationship between "change and invariance" and "core and innovation" of core knowledge.
