With the digitization of academic communication and the rise of social media, online communication is playing an increasingly important role in academic research and knowledge sharing, while bringing new collisions and interactions to the impact of public publications.Although there has been a lot of research on Open Access(OA)journal articles, little is known about the subject of Open Access Academic Books.Academic books are one of the main literature carriers for knowledge dissemination and academic communication, especially in the social sciences and human sciences(HSS).With the proliferation of online academic exchanges, conventional methods of assessing the quality of research results are becoming obsolete. While traditional citations are still important, they are no longer able to measure new forms of academic work, nor to use new social media methods to disseminating content, and thus to show a complete evaluation of the results of analysis. The emergence of Altmetrics has brought new opportunities for the evaluation of academic books' influence, enabling people to quantify the academic influence of academic works from a multi-dimensional perspective in a new way.In this context, based on the analysis of the characteristics of open access books, the diversification of publishing channels, readers' needs and usage habits, this paper first integrated the evaluation index of Alt Metrics to design a comprehensive evaluation index of the influence of open access books. Then, this paper selected the representative Springer database as an example platform, used the Bookmetrix tool developed by Springer and Altmetric.com to obtain index data for screening and analysis, and used SPSS to carry out factor analysis, correlation analysis and principal component analysis on the collected data.Analyze the data indicators. Finally, according to the analysis results of example data,we find that Altmetric can not only make up for the shortcomings of traditional evaluation indexes, but also promote the development of open access movement, and expand the evaluation objects. While Alt Metrics has an unprecedented advantage in evaluating the impact of open access books,it is still not comparable to the quality of peer-reviewed research,so Alt Metrics is a complement to,rather than a replacement for, traditional metrics.
