At present,AI technology has made a series of important breakthroughs in many fields,and its further innovation and development have attracted worldwide attention and attention.Driven by the broad market prospects,China's AI industry has developed rapidly,but on the whole,China's AI is still in the industrial formation period of technology research and application exploration.Innovation is the key factor for AI industry to form competitive advantage,and plays a decisive role.However,its innovation performance has been affected and restricted by many factors.Correspondingly,the research on innovation management of AI industry has just started,and the theoretical construction is still in the exploratory stage.Therefore,the research on innovation performance of AI industry can play a role in promoting the healthy development of AI industry to a certain extent.Starting from the current situation and characteristics of AI industry,this paper mainly explores the following contents:Firstly,through descriptive analysis,the history,current situation and problems of AI industry in China are analyzed in depth in order to grasp the characteristics of the industry as a whole and lay a foundation for the follow-up research on innovation performance.Based on the difference of AI industry development in different fields,this paper subdivides AI industry into different fields,and analyses the differences in enterprise scale,investment,output and growth in different subdividing fields,which lays a foundation for the research on industry differences of influencing factors of innovation performance in follow-up.Thirdly,it discusses the key factors affecting the innovation performance of AI industry in China.To establish a model to test the impact of the above factors on innovation performance of AI industry in China.Further,according to the differences of the development status of AI industry in different fields,cross-regression is carried out to analyze the influence of innovation factors on the heterogeneity of innovation performance industry.Cross-regression is also carried out to different ownership enterprises according to the heterogeneity of enterprise ownership structure,and the difference of innovation factors on innovation performance in enterprise ownership structure is analyzed.Fourthly,combined with the relevant research conclusions,it provides corresponding policy enlightenment for the innovation and healthy and steady development of AI industry in China in the future.Based on the typical data of AI enterprises,the main conclusions of this paper are as follows:Firstly,the AI industry in China is in the stage of industrial formation on the whole,and the key to industrial development is to increase investment in order to improve and innovate the technology level.At present,there are still some problems in the industry,such as the training speed of high-end technical talents can not keep up with the speed of industrial development,the huge demand for R&D funds,the relatively backward development of basic areas,the shortage of technology,the lack of industrial chain,and the lack of industrial layout and planning.Secondly,capital investment,high-quality talents and government support are the key factors affecting the innovation of AI industry in China.R&D investment,human capital and policy subsidy have a significant role in promoting the innovation performance of AI enterprises.Thirdly,the impact of innovation factors on innovation performance is different in different fields,levels and ownership structure of enterprises.The study finds that in the industry heterogeneity of influencing factors,government subsidy,enterprise size and enterprise profitability have a significant impact on the innovation performance of AI enterprises.The positive effects of innovation performance at the basic level are more obvious,while the positive effects of human capital,R&D investment and market concentration on technology level and application level are greater.In the heterogeneity of ownership structure,state-owned enterprises and non-state-owned enterprises have their own advantages and disadvantages in innovation performance.Non-state-owned enterprises can make better use of talents and R&D funds,while state-owned enterprises can have a deeper understanding of policy subsidies.In view of this,this paper puts forward the following four suggestions:first,cultivate artificial intelligence talents and enhance relevant skills;second,increase investment in artificial intelligence field to promote industrial technology application;third,create artificial intelligence innovation platform to promote collaborative innovation between schools,land and enterprises;fourth,increase government support to explore effective ways of support.
