As one of the most important media in Japan,Japanese newspapers are not only the main source of news for the people of the two countries to understand each other,but also reflect Japan’s presentation of China and Sino-Japanese relations,which shows the media’s attitudes and tendencies towards related events.The Diaoyu Islands issue has been a hot topic for many years,which inevitably has a negative impact on the relationship between the two countries.This paper selects the report of the Yomiuri Shimbun on the Diaoyu islands issue to discuss the status of Sino-Japanese relations under this major topic.This paper combines the related theory of communication with the theory of Anarchical Culture and the hypothesis of "Three Steps" of security community,which is divided into four chapters.Chapter one is the introduction,which elaborates the research background of Sino-Japanese relations and summarizes the diaoyu island issue and the Yomiuri Shimbun.Combing the relevant studies of Chinese and foreign scholars with theories,summarizing the research ideas of this paper,and proposing research hypotheses.The second chapter introduces the research design and research methods,the samples collected are sorted out and summarized,and a coding table is made for statistics in different ways.The third chapter is the research result and the data analysis part,unifies the corresponding theory,summarizes the research result.The fourth chapter is the conclusion part,according to the reality situation,China should deal with the Japanese media ideology,the further development of Sino-Japanese relations,put forward a few thoughts.The paper found that there were significant differences in the relationship states presented by media reports in different fields.The focus of the report is on competitive relations,respecting national interests while competing with each other,which means that the Sino-Japanese relations presented by Japanese media are always in the cultural state of Locke relations.In the semantic keyword part,the Japanese government’s tough attitude,the Chinese government’s tough attitude,China’s military activities and threats and other variables will make the relationship between the two countries from friendly relations to hostile relations;The variables of Sino-Japanese folk exchange activities and Sino-Japanese strategic reciprocal relations will transform the relationship from hostile to friendly.In the bilateral relations score section,Sino-Japanese economic cooperation,domestic politics in Japan,make the relationship between the two countries move from a hostile relationship to a competitive one.The three variables of Sino-US relations,China’s military activities and threats,the East China sea and South China sea issues can turn the competitive relationship into a hostile one.In the future development of Sino-Japanese relations,the two countries should carry out active exchanges and cooperation,reach strategic and mutually beneficial relations the two countries,at the same time,strengthen friendly diplomacy between the two peoples and civil organizations,and promote good-neighborly,peaceful and stable relations.In its foreign communication,China also needs to pay attention to the scale in its external communication,strengthen the dissemination of China’s ideology and national image of peaceful development in the field of culture,and enhance China’s guiding power of public opinion in the world.
