Research On The Communication Of Henan's Image In The Reports Of People's Daily (2010-2019)

As one of the origins of the Chinese civilization and Chinese nation,Henan has a long and splendid culture.Henan's image bears a profound and vast breath.However,in other provinces in China,the public usually do not have an adequate understanding of Henan.They even have poor impressions on Henan and “low quality”,“a lot of liars”,“poor”,and “backward” have become the widespread comments on Henan people by people from other provinces.These phenomena and problems require reflection and analysis.Therefore,we selected the Henan-related reports of People's Daily(2010-2019)for analysis and research.Firstly,this thesis studies and illustrates the relationship between image communication and regional development.Secondly,the thesis carries out a quantitative analysis on the image of Henan in the reports of People's Daily from 2010 to 2019.The thesis offers an overview of People's Daily and introduces the research path.Then the author analyzes the content of Henan-related reports in People's Daily(2010-2019)from the five aspects of time,number of characters,news report theme,report inclination,and source of news for Henan-related reports,Through the analysis,it is discovered that the characteristics of Henan-related reports in People's Daily during this period are: the number of reports are generally stable,but displays a downward trend;the themes of reports are extensive;the reporting attitude is strongly objective;the sources of news mainly come from reporters of the newspaper.Then,after conducting a frame analysis of the People's Daily(2010-2019)reports concerning Henan,it was found that People's Daily pays more attention to Henan's political and economic fields,and attaches great importance to the promotion of morality and accountability of issues.Then,it analyzes the presentation of Henan's image on the People's Daily in the past decade:The politics is clear,and the style of party members and cadres has changed;The economy is stable and quality is improved,and the industrial structure is continuously optimized and upgraded;Integration of culture and tourism;In terms of social and people's livelihood,it helps to solve people's livelihood problems and enhance people's happiness;give full play to the role of public opinion supervision and promote the harmonious development of society.Finally,the thesis discusses the inspiration on the communication of Henan image offered by Henan-related reports in People's Daily(2010-2019).It is important to actively organize large-scale events,establish the crisis management mechanism for the image of Henan,expand opening-up through the locationadvantage of China(He'nan)Pilot Free Trade Zone,prioritize the development of educational undertakings,and enhance the overall quality of Henan people.In summary,to demonstrates Henan's charm and attractiveness and build a new image for Henan,which requires the joint effort of government,media,and the public.
