Research On Urban Landmarks And Urban Memory Under Spatial Narrative

The achievements of Chinese urbanization have amazed the world since the reform and opening up.The most dazzling representative is the rise of various urban landmarks as business cards of various cities.In such a wave,the city construction convergence,the urban memory forgetting problem is increasingly serious,leading to the city charm loss.Therefore,how to accurately reproduce and construct urban memory with the help of urban landmarks has become an important issue to meet urban construction needs.Based on the theory of urban spatial narration of new tools in urban research,the study of urban memory is of theoretical and practical significance based on the landmark of Shenzhen,an international metropolis.Guided by the space narrative and space theory model,this paper refers to the three levels of space reappearance in literary narrative:the space of local chronicles,the space of space-time body and the space of text.In this paper,the spatial narrative system for urban space research is proposed,which includes the narrative of urban morphology,event narration and quadratic narration,namely the participation of urban memory in narrative.On this basis,select the Shenzhen citizen center as a case,with its multiple narrative subject and narrative text as the research object,analyze how the citizen center through spatial narrative reproduces and constructs urban memory,and finally summarize the relationship between the three levels of spatial narrative.The research shows that in the urban space of Shenzhen citizen center,urban morphology,event and memory are both narrative subjects and narrative texts.Through official narration,folk narration,media participation narration,event narration and other forms of spatial narrative reproduce the urban memory.The practice shows that the urban landmark design through spatial narration can help to reconstruct the urban memory and create a urban landmark space with friendliness,identity,attachment and expectation to protect the city charm.On the other hand,memory plays an important role in spatial narrative whetherpersonal memory or urban memory.This case is expected to provide reference for the landmark construction and urban memory protection in China.
