Research On The Cooperation Of Book Publishing Across The Taiwan Straits In The Last Ten Years (2008-2018)

The exchange of books and publications between the two sides of the Taiwan Straits began in 1988.The cooperation in book publishing is not only one of the main ways of cross-strait mass media communication,but also an important carrier of cross-strait cultural inheritance.In 2008,major changes have taken place in cross-strait relations.The mainland of the motherland attaches great importance to the positive role of cross-strait book-publishing cooperation in promoting cross-strait economic and trade exchanges and has introduced a number of relevant policies to promote exchanges and cooperation between cross-strait publishers.In the past decade,the changes in cross-strait relations and related policies,the differences in the comprehensive strength of cross-strait book publishers,the changes in Taiwanese reader groups and their social mentality,and the development of cooperation in digital publishing have combined to form a new environment for cross-strait book publishing cooperation.In 2016,the political parties in Taiwan continued to rotate.After Tsai Ing-wen came to power,cross-strait relations became more complicated and the factors of instability increased.The cooperation between book publishers on both sides of the Taiwan Straits needs to face a new environment and meet new challenges.This paper takes the cooperation of book publishing on both sides of the Taiwan Straits in the past ten years as the research object.It mainly uses the methods of literature analysis and comparative research to adopt an interactive perspective to sort out the development history of cross-strait book publishing exchanges and cooperation,and to organize the cooperation between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait during the decade from 2008 to 2018.Analyze the new environment and new features,explore issues,and propose targeted recommendations.First,in 1988,the official opening of cross-strait book publishing and the major changes in cross-strait relations in 2008 were two time nodes.The development history of cross-strait book publishing exchanges and cooperation was outlined,and how the crossstrait book publishing developed from isolation to deep cooperation.Second,the PEST analysis method is used to analyze the environment in which the book publishing cooperation between the two sides of the Taiwan Straits has been carried out in the past decade.Under the background of macro-environmental changes,the exchange and cooperation of cross-strait book publishing presents two new features: the reversal of copyright trade status and the diversity of book cooperation methods.While realizing the two effects of promoting cultural communication and enhancing commercial profits,it also enhanced the mainland's discourse power over Taiwan and enriched the way in which the mainland's "smart power" strategy was built.Third,from the macro,meso and micro levels,the paper discusses the policy restrictions,interests,and lack of integration of book publishing cooperation across the Taiwan Straits.Fourth,put forward targeted suggestions for optimizing the development of book publishing cooperation across the Taiwan Straits.In light of the idea of building a "cross-strait media common market" in recent years,the mainland has fully considered the development of cultural and creative industries in Taiwan,and proposed strategic proposals for expanding cooperation space and integrating into the development of Taiwan's cultural and creative industries,in order to alleviate the differences in interests of cross-strait publishing systems.The issue will enhance the effective integration and stability of cross-strait cooperation.
