Reading teaching occupies a very important position in middle school language teaching.After the beginning of the new curriculum reform,many language education experts and scholars have devoted themselves to the research of reading teaching,looking for new paths to improve the quality of reading teaching.Group reading teaching is one of the important achievements,which meets the new concept of the new curriculum reform,satisfies its requirements for reading teaching,and provides a new teaching method for reading teaching in junior high school.At present,the theoretical research of group reading teaching is gradually mature,but it has not been widely promoted and put into practice,and most schools are still in the experimental stage,so more scholars and teachers are still needed to continuously research,practice and improve.Among the studies related to group reading teaching,there is a lack of research on foreign novel reading in junior high school,and there are also problems in foreign novel reading teaching itself: teachers and students do not pay enough attention to it;teaching methods are relatively single.Based on the shortcomings of the research on the teaching of foreign novels and group reading,this study,based on the research and practice of several experts,scholars and teachers,combined with the actual investigation,tries to propose strategies and design teaching cases for the teaching of foreign novels and group reading in junior high school,trying to provide new contents for the research on the teaching of foreign novels and group reading.The introductory part mainly elaborates on the origin of the study,the value of the study,the research overview and the research method.In the first chapter,we analyze the selection of foreign novels in the unified middle school language textbooks,identify the concept of group reading teaching,clarify the relationship between group reading and group reading teaching,and distinguish the similarities and differences between group reading teaching and unit whole group teaching,theme reading teaching,and "1+X" reading teaching.Finally,we analyze the feasibility of implementing group reading teaching of foreign novels in the context of group reading teaching theory and actual teaching situation.Chapter 2 presents the results of the survey on the teaching of foreign novels and the reasons for it.The third chapter is a study on the teaching strategies of group reading of foreign novels in junior high school.It mainly focuses on the characteristics of foreign novels and the actual situation of students,proposes strategies for determining topics,selecting and combining texts and implementing teaching,and tries to design teaching cases with the literature circle strategy as an example.The aim is to provide feasible references for front-line teachers to teach group reading of foreign novels and to solve the problems related to the teaching of foreign novels in junior high school language.
