The Outline for the Implementation of Patriotic Education in the New Era states that young people in the new era,as a key patriotic education pair,and schools as an important educational venue,should be integrated with subject education.The geography curriculum standards released from 2001 to 2017 have emphasized patriotic education for secondary school students.Based on the geography curriculum standards,patriotic education in high school geography in border ethnic areas can effectively develop students' core literacy while highlighting the nurturing value of the geography subject.This study takes into account the actual situation in border ethnic areas and explores teaching strategies that can be effectively linked to reality and suitable for practice,effectively bringing into play the moral education role of geography.It also improves the theoretical basis and practical methods for teachers of geography in border ethnic areas in their teaching,and effectively improves their professionalism and teaching standards.With the aid of the literature research method,this study collates the relevant literature on patriotic education and geography and,on the basis of previous research,summarises the concept,content and associated particularities and values of patriotic education in high school geography teaching in border ethnic areas.Taking Chongzuo Guangxi as the study area,a questionnaire survey and an interview survey were taken for high school students and high school geography teachers in Chongzuo to clarify the current situation of patriotic education in high school geography teaching in border ethnic areas,and then analyse the problems and reasons for patriotic education in high school geography teaching in border ethnic areas.It is explored that the implementation of patriotic education in high school geography teaching in border ethnic areas should be approached from the aspects of geography teachers' concepts and competence quality,geography curriculum resources development,teaching methods,and teaching evaluation.Finally,a teaching case is designed,using the summarised methods and approaches to verify the feasibility of the strategies while deepening the reader's understanding of the methods and approaches.Through the above research,the following conclusions are drawn:(1)Patriotism education in border ethnic areas has its particularity.To carry out patriotism education in geography teaching in border ethnic areas is not only the practice of curriculum standards,but also conducive to promoting social harmony and national unity and cultivating qualified socialist reserve army for border ethnic areas.(2)At present,the implementation of patriotic education in geography classrooms in Chongzuo needs to be strengthened,mainly due to the lack of awareness,relevance and topicality of geography teachers in implementing patriotic education and the lack of enthusiasm of high school students in receiving patriotic education,mainly due to the influence of geography teachers by the traditional education system,their own limited professional level and theoretical education,and the bias of high school students' concepts.(3)The implementation of patriotism education in geography teaching of senior high schools in border ethnic areas should follow the principles of scientific,contemporary,flexible and life-oriented.(4)The present situation of patriotism education in high school geography teaching should be improved in many ways in border ethnic minority areas: the concept and ability of high school geography teachers should be improved in many ways;Taking geography knowledge as carrier,developing and utilizing geography curriculum resources related to patriotism education;Open a variety of forms of geographical activities to cultivate patriotism;Flexible use of a variety of teaching methods,patriotism education in classroom teaching;Adopt a variety of evaluation methods to promote mutual improvement between teachers and students.
