The new geography curriculum reform and new teaching strategies have attracted the attention of many teachers.Learning local geography when compared to the using traditional geography textbooks is more applicable to students and will likely to lead to maintaining students' interest in learning.Chongzuo,located in southwest region of China bordering Vietnam.Chongzuo is full of rich and diverse resources that can be used to study physical geography and cultural geography.Chongzuo has unique and valuable natural and human geography resources,which are closely related to high school geography curriculum content.In Chongzuo,the economy is underdeveloped and the education system is mediocre,as a result the students are not engaged and not interested in learning.Therefore,this paper takes Chongzuo City as an example to investigate the teaching of rural geography in Chongzuo City and propose new teaching methods.This will provide the basis for the teaching of rural geography in high school.Through questionnaire survey,this paper investigates the current situation of rural geography teaching in Chongzuo City.It finds that one of the existing problems at the present moment include young teachers lacking teaching experience and low overall teaching efficiency.The development of curriculum resources of rural geography in Chongzuo City is insufficient and the curriculum resources lack variety.In regards to problems found in the questionnaire survey,this paper proposes the following teaching methods of rural geography:(1)The development of school-based curriculum and teaching of rural geography;(2)To use comparative analysis and case study infiltration method to analyze Percolate rural geography;(3)Infiltrate local geography in extra-curricular activities.In order to prove the feasibility of these teaching strategies.This paper uses specific teaching cases to conduct empirical research,and draws the following conclusions:(1)Local geography can stimulate students' interest in learning,improve the enthusiasm of students to love their hometown and build their hometown;(2)Infiltrating local geography in teaching can improve the teaching efficiency;(3)School-based curriculum development is an effective way to develop the curriculum resources of rural geography and the teaching of rural geography.
