As a unique artistic treasure of Oriental culture,Chinese calligraphy contains the unique national temperament and spiritual connotation of the Chinese nation.The fundamental reason why calligraphy can become an excellent traditional culture in China lies in its own value and special function of "educating people".However,in the age of network information,our calligraphy education in primary and secondary schools is not satisfactory.In 2014,the word "core literacy" was first proposed in the Opinions on Comprehensively Deepening Curriculum Reform and Implementing the Fundamental Task of Moral Education issued by the Ministry of Education.In 2016,the research results of The Development of Core Literacy of Chinese Students were officially released,and "core literacy" once again attracted high attention from the education circle.School curriculum is an important carrier of cultivating students' core accomplishment.Different subjects improve students' comprehensive ability from different angles,and calligraphy teaching is an important part of it.Using literature research method,observation method and empirical method,this paper mainly explores the following contents: The concept of core literacy,the goal of calligraphy teaching in junior middle school and the relationship between the two are studied;By means of questionnaire survey and interview,taking some middle schools in Nanan District of Chongqing as samples,this paper analyzes the current situation of calligraphy teaching in middle schools,especially the difficulties faced and the reasons for these difficulties.Finally,taking Chongqing 110 Middle School as an example,this paper explores the strategy of calligraphy teaching in junior middle school under the background of core literacy.And focus on chongqing 110 middle School "one concept"(" education with calligraphy " concept)," two principles "(" overall education principle" and "leading appreciation principle")and "six procedural teaching method"(" eye training,hand training,brush training,character training,heart training,education " procedural teaching method of calligraphy).And analyzed the school in this calligraphy teaching model has achieved results.This paper holds that the goal of calligraphy teaching has a strong consistency with the idea of improving students' core literacy.Primary and secondary schools in China should strive to overcome the difficulties in calligraphy teaching,take measures according to local conditions,explore a suitable way of calligraphy teaching for the school,and make their own contributions to promote the overall improvement of the core literacy of the educatees.
