According to statistics,as of 2018,the number of left-behind children in China has decreased by 22.7% compared with more than 9.02 million in 2016,but there are still more than 6.97 million,which is a very large group.Countries have been maintained a high attention to left-behind children group and introduced various policies for the leftbehind children to provide the corresponding services to help left-behind children improve their situation,but most of the services provided by the only material assistance and rough mental health services,less attention left-behind children into the subtle level of emotion management.Because of the particularity of their situation,left-behind children may have a series of emotional problems.The bad emotional state of left-behind children will have a great impact on their psychological,physiological and social life.Therefore,it has become an urgent problem to understand the emotional needs of leftbehind children and help them effectively manage their emotions.Social work professionals who help solve various social problems should also pay attention to the emotional problems of left-behind children,focus on the emotional management of leftbehind children,and provide corresponding services for them.This study takes rural left-behind children in M Primary School as the main research object.Through the methods of internship observation interview and emotional intelligence scale measurement,it is found that left-behind children in M Primary School have certain emotional problems and their emotional management ability is not high.For example,left-behind children in M Primary School are prone to inferiority,sensitivity,irritability,loneliness and other emotions,and they are deficient in cognition,understanding,regulation and use of emotions.To solve this problem,this study,based on ternary interactive determinism,carried out group work to help them improve their ability of emotion management,so as to make them achieve better development.The research shows that the group work method has a significant effect on improving the emotional management ability of left-behind children in rural areas,and the service objects' emotional cognition ability,emotional understanding ability,emotional use ability and emotional regulation ability have been improved.The effectiveness of social work methods to intervene the emotional problems of left-behind children has been well verified.In addition,some reflections are also made on the emotional problems and the lack of sociality in social work.
