Research On The Cultivation Of Scientist Spirit Among University Students In The New Era

The scientist’s spirit is the spiritual temperament of our science and technology professionals that has been precipitated during their long-term scientific practice.Since the founding of New China,it is because the spirit of scientists has supported the majority of science and technology professionals in their endeavours to move forward that our country has been able to accomplish great historical leaps in the field of science and technology.As we enter a new era,science and technology has become a crucial ingredient in gradually shrinking the gap between China and developed countries.Universities are the cradle of future scientific and technological talents,and university students are an influential reserve of future scientific and technological innovation,with their values,moral qualities and scientific qualities directly affecting the quality of our modern construction and progress.Consciously practicing the spirit of scientists in the new era and actively carrying out the work of nurturing the spirit of scientists among college students in the new age,which is the realistic need for the development of college students themselves in the new era,is also the urgent need to achieve the second century goal and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.This paper composes and defines the connotation of science,scientific spirit and scientist’s spirit,and elaborates on the contemporary characteristics of scientist’s spirit of peoplehood and caste,innovation and progress,wholeness and collaboration,in the light of the domestic background.Based on the actual situation of economic and social development and the pursuit of comprehensive development of university students,the necessity of studying the cultivation of scientist spirit among university students is pointed out.Combining the high importance attached to ideological and political education and socialist core values by the state and the pursuit of ideals and beliefs by university students in the new era,the feasibility of cultivating scientist spirit among university students in the new era is analysed.Through a questionnaire survey,we have explored the shortcomings of the cultivation methods and contents in the process of cultivating the scientist spirit among university students in the new era,as well as the lack of self-awareness among university students themselves,and analyzed the reasons for these problems,is that the social environment for the cultivation of the scientist’s spirit is not optimised,the universities do not provide adequate protection for the cultivation of the scientist’s spirit,there are wrong educational concepts in family education,and the students’ own personality development is not perfect..In view of these problems and their causes,and in conjunction with the connotation and contemporary value of the scientist’s spirit,we propose countermeasures and suggestions for the cultivation of the scientist’s spirit among university students in the new era from the national,social,school,family and personal levels.
