Solid geometry is the key and difficult point in high school mathematics teaching.Only by fully understanding the development of students' geometric thinking level can we take effective measures to carry out targeted teaching. Therefore, based on Van Hill's theory, this paper takes the high school mathematics solid geometry knowledge plate as the carrier, adopts the test investigation method and the interview method to carry on the test research.Through the research,we find that:1.The geometric thinking level of sophomores in this school mainly concentrates on analytical level(accounting for 24.5% of the total number),informal deduction level(accounting for 20.8% of the total number)and formal deduction level.2.On the whole, the development trend of geometric thinking level of students of different genders is basically the same. There are fewer students with intuitive level, and more students with analytical level, informal deduction level and formal deduction level.Students with intuitive level, analytical level and formal deduction level have higher scores than male students. The scores of male students in informal deduction and formal deduction are higher than those of female students, and male and female students have their own advantages in all levels of scores.3.The students in characteristic class have higher level of three-dimensional geometric thinking than those in ordinary class, with 73.58% students in characteristic class at formal deduction level and 84.91% students in ordinary class failing to achieve informal deduction level. From this,it can be concluded that students' geometric thinking level is generally high in characteristic classes, showing a high level distribution; In ordinary classes, students' geometric thinking level is generally low, showing a low level distribution.According to the test investigation, interview and daily teaching observation,it is found that the main factors affecting the development of students' geometric thinking level are teaching, mathematical language, thinking characteristics and learning ability.
