Geometric intuition plays an important role in mathematics learning. In the 2011 edition of the "Compulsory Education Mathematics Curriculum Standards","geometric intuition" is one of the ten core concepts, and it is clear that geometric intuition mainly uses graphics to describe and analyze problems.Hua Luogeng once said: "When the number is missing,it is less intuitive. Therefore,it is especially important to study the development of junior middle school students' geometric intuitive ability in middle school mathematics teaching. This paper mainly adopts the methods of literature research and questionnaire survey.First, based on the theory of van HIL's geometric thinking, the paper makes a survey and test on the students of two classes in a middle school of a county in Zhangzhou City,Fujian Province. It considers which stage of the ninth grade students' geometric intuitive ability reaches the level of van HIL's geometric thinking, and whether the students' geometric intuitive ability is related to gender.Secondly,SPSS software was used to analyze the score data of the questionnaire, and the following conclusions were obtained:1.Most of the students' ability of geometric intuition has reached the third level of van hile's geometric thinking theory, that is,the level of abstraction and relationship. However, only 19% of the students have reached the fourth level of van HIL's geometric thinking, that is,the level of formal deduction.6% of the students reached the fifth level of van hile's geometric thinking, that is,the level of strictness;2.In general, there is no significant difference in the ability of geometric intuition between male and female students, only in the test of formal deduction level;3.There is a positive correlation between students' ability of geometric intuition and their own academic achievements.
