Solid geometry is an important part of geometry. In the learning process of solid geometry,it is necessary to have better intuitive imagination and reasoning ability. This article is based on the theoretical basis of Van Hill's geometric thinking level, combined with the requirements of solid geometry in "General High School Mathematics Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition)",compiled the solid geometry reasoning level test papers for high school students, and a questionnaire on the learning of solid geometry for senior high school students was also compiled to understand the learning of solid geometry.A test was conducted on 202 students in the first grade of a middle school in a township in Guangdong Province. The main conclusions of the study are as follows:1.Most students' solid geometric reasoning level is in the description stage, and a small number of students can reach the informal deduction stage and the formal deduction stage.2.The level of solid geometric reasoning of boys and girls is mainly in the description stage, and the overall situation of boys is slightly better than that of girls.3.For students, symbolic language and graphic language are difficult to understand, and it is difficult to prove reasoning in the process of solving problems.Through the analysis of the questionnaire, the following conclusions can be drawn:1.Students should master the basic knowledge of solid geometry.2.Students like simple questions but hate difficult ones, and think that solid geometry has little connection with reality.3.The students think that the symbolic language and the graphic language are difficult to understand, and the reasoning proof is difficult in the process of solving the problem.4.Most students think that solid geometry learning is mainly difficult in the train of thought unclear.Their own foundation is not firm.It is difficult for them to examine questions and their imagination ability is insufficient so they do not understand or no interest.5.Students can basically draw corresponding graphics according to the meaning of the topic, having a certain idea in solving the problem but cannot be sure whether the idea is correct.Sometimes they can use the idea of transformation to solve problems. In most cases, certain conclusions can't be inferred based on conditions and knowledge, when encountering a question that is not possible, they usually ask their classmates or think for themself based on the answer.6.Teachers use dynamic software or animation to help them learn solid geometry.Basically, students can keep up with the teacher's thoughts to think and reason, but the teachers in the classroom leave them insufficient thinking time.7.Students can often complete the homework or exercises assigned by the teacher on time, but rarely take the initiative to do other exercises. Finally,on the basis of the research conclusions, several teaching suggestions to improve students' solid geometric reasoning level are put forward.
