In recent years,the rapid development of science and technology has dramatically affected all countries' economies,societies,and education.To ensure our country's sustainable development in the economy,technology,and national defense,more and more researchers have begun to focus on STEM education.STEM education is a method that enables students to acquire interdisciplinary problem-solving skills in the learning process of science,technology,engineering,and mathematics knowledge and skills.It aims to cultivate students' STEM literacy.At present,there are few cases that applied the concept of STEM in high school mathematics.therefore,according to the needs of China's education reform and the requirements of general high school mathematics curriculum standard,combining STEM education core idea of multidisciplinary integration,explore and construct the high school mathematics teaching design framework which is based on STEM education concept,then design and inspection based on the framework of mathematics teaching in the practice application effect,it has substantial theoretical and practical value.This research is mainly divided into three stages:The first stage: Reading and combing literature related to STEM,psychology,and pedagogy theories,drawing on the predecessor's STEM education model,and compiling high school mathematics teaching design model based on the STEM education concept.The second stage: According to the compiled STEM teaching design mode,the teaching design is carried out by taking the "functional model and its application" of the PEP edition as an example,and a class of Grade 1 in the school where the author practiced is selected for teaching practice.The third stage: Through educational observation,questionnaire and survey,and interview,the students in the experimental class and participating teachers are investigated,and then the teaching effect is objectively evaluated according to the "Group Performance Score Sheet",and the teaching effect is modified and improved according to the feedback of teachers and students and instructional design.Although there are still deficiencies in practice,the results show that it is easy to carry out mathematics teaching design based on STEM concept under the framework of mathematics teaching design.It also has positive impacts on students' learning motivation,attitude,and learning effect during the implementation process.The main conclusions are as follows:First,it is feasible to integrate STEM education concepts into high school mathematics teaching.Second,the design model of high school mathematics teaching based on the STEM education concepts is developed.Third,the teaching implementation effect based on the STEM education concepts is better.
