Prose,which is called belles-lettres,with its fresh and meaningful written languages as well as flexible styles and forms,shows natural and pure emotions and poetic aesthetic conceptions of the writers.In the Chinese textbooks of high schools,prose is a very important type of writing,and prose teaching is one of the key points and one of the difficulties of the teaching of the Chinese language in high schools.Nowadays,there are several problems in prose teaching of high schools.With the latest survey data of prose teaching and the analysis of the related documents,the author discovers that the main problems of prose teaching are as follows: the contents of prose teaching cannot be standardized;the connotations of the proses cannot be precisely explained;prose teaching is deviated from the texts of the proses;the teachers do not point out the features of the proses;prose teaching falls into the ossified patternizing track,etc.To solve the existing problems of prose teaching of high school is a task of top priority as well as the key of improving the quality of prose teaching.For this purpose,the author of this essay tries to combine the methods of literary geography criticism and prose teaching of high school to analyze the geographical spaces and key geographical elements of the prose texts,and the above method is mainly used in the teaching of narrative proses and scenery lyric proses.Based on the related theories of literary geography criticism proposed by Professor Zeng Daxing,this essay stresses the four teaching strategies,such as how to grasp the text features from the prose texts,and how to grasp the thoughts and the emotional features of the writers by focusing on the people,and how to analyse the space-time structures of the proses by emphasizing both time and space as well as how to know about the lives and writing backgrounds of the writers from examining and exploring the personal elements of the writers,and shows how to use the above methods to lead the students to grasp the text features of the proses and appreciate the flavor of the proses and understand the contents of the proses and comprehend of the connotations of the prose texts.Based on the psychology of seeking something new and special of the students when they read the proses,if we look into prose teaching of high school again from the new perspective of literary geography criticism,the teachers can make a breakthough in the following way: they lead the students to analyse various geographical spaces in the texts and the key spacial elements of the people,the events,the scenes,the things and the written languges,including scenes,maps,geogrphical names,geographical features and etc.,creating brand new learning experiences for the students and opening another window for the students,compared to the teaching in the old times which guided the students to appreciate the proses from the angles of periods and times.Through this novel and unique views of appreciating the proses,the students can obtain more new discoveries,new understandings and new experiences when they are reading the proses.It not only helps the students to develop the geographic sense and feel the wholeness of the time and space in the proses,but also assists them in widening their vision,developing their multiple thinking and enhancing the joy of reading the proses,as well as achieving the effective prose teaching finally.Moreover,the teachers combine the teaching practices of their own and the researches they are working on,achieving the goal of synchronization of teaching and research actually.
