This article bases on the current interpretation of literary text in high school and tries to solve the problem of Interpretation of text by introducing American "New Criticism" theory. American "New Criticism" is a literary criticism theory which fully respects the text and analysis the text connotation. All of its theoretical dimensions can be summed up as" the close reading of the text". The article tries to find the association between American "New Criticism" and high school Chinese Literature text Interpretation and help students to establish harmonious dialogue with the text. In this way, we can improve their abilities of writing and appreciation of literary text.The article consists of six parts:The first is the introduction part. This part sets out the background and research significance of the article. The second part is the new curriculum standard and interpretation of literary text in high school. In this part,the article gives definition of key words and elaborates the new curriculum standard’s requirement to interpretation of literary text. The third part is analysis of the current interpretation of literary text in high school. This part analyzes the present situation and the reasons of the current interpretation of literary text. The fourth part talks about American "New Criticism" and its interpretation. In this part, the article studies the concept, theory, criticism method of American "New Criticism". The fifth part elaborates high school interpretation of literary text from the perspective of American "New Criticism". This part tries to apply the basic theory of American "New Criticism" to senior high school literature teaching. In order to demonstrate this point, the article elaborates the inevitability of applying the American "New Criticism "to high school literary text teaching, the high school literary text teaching characteristics, and content from the perspective of the American "New Criticism ".On the basis of the above, the article puts forward interpretation of literary text strategies in order to improve students’ability of reading, such as grasping key words and sentences, context, semantic ambiguity from the text. The last part is conclusion. It concludes that the American "New Criticism" which has closely related with the present high school literature texts interpretation, has great constructive help for the current high school teaching.It can solve practical problems and improve the effectiveness of senior high school Chinese teaching to introduce American "New Criticism".
