ObjectiveTo observe the clinical efficacy of Chinese herbal acupressure on headache patients with hyperactivity of liver yang using the method of reconciliation and shaoyang, and to explore the important role of Chinese herbal acupressure in the treatment of headache patients;to further compare and study the effect of Chinese herbal acupressure on improving the negative psychological mood and quality of life of headache patients;to provide effective and convenient Chinese medical treatment and clinical basis for headache patients, and to enrich the treatment options for headache patients. To provide headache patients with effective and convenient TCM treatment methods and clinical basis, and to enrich the TCM treatment options for headache patients.MethodsIn this study,61 patients who met the inclusion criteria for hyperactivity of liver yang type headache were randomly divided into a test group and a control group using a randomized controlled study method.Thirty-one patients in the experimental group were treated with Tianmagouteng decoction combined with acupressure. In the control group,30 patients were only given Tianmagouteng decoction. The medical history report form was recorded before and after the patients were enrolled, including basic information(age, sex, occupation, etxc.),headache characteristics, headache degree, concomitant symptoms, tongue and pulse diagnosis, medication and other treatment information.During the treatment period all try to avoid the use of other traditional Chinese medicine, proprietary Chinese medicine, western medicine, acupuncture, etc.with analgesic effect, and if taken or treated should be recorded in detail.Tianma hook vine drink is taken once a day, morning and evening;the Chinese herbal acupuncture point paste is made by the method of reconciliation of Shaoyang and is applied to both sides of the patient's solar plexus and Yin Tang. One patch was applied daily for 2 hours. One of the patients was dislodged because he went out of town and stopped treatment. Both groups were treated for 14 days. After treatment, the headache attacks and scores as well as the TCM evidence scores were observed once at 2 weeks of treatment and 2 weeks of discontinuation, while the SF-36 scale, anxiety self-assessment scale and depression self-assessment scale were observed once at 2 weeks of discontinuation. The clinical efficacy of the treatment of headache patients with hyperactivity of liver and yang was observed.ResultsBaseline data:60 migraine patients were finally included in this study,30 cases each in the test and control groups. There were no statistically significant differences between the two groups in the baseline data of age, gender, disease duration, attack triggers, occupational distribution, headache attacks,TCM symptoms, negative psychological emotions, and quality of life(P>0.05),which were comparable.Clinical condition of headache:After treatment, there was a significant difference between the two groups compared with that before treatment by statistical test(P<0.05),indicating that both groups had significant efficacy in improving the clinical symptoms of headache;compared between groups, the test group was better than the control group in reducing the intensity of headache, improving the accompanying symptoms and improving the overall condition of headache by statistical test(P<0.05),while the two groups performed better in reducing the frequency and duration of headache(P<0.05).The clinical efficacy of headache in the two groups was 86.67%in the experimental group and 66.67%in the control group, and there was a difference in the total effective rate between the two groups(P<0.05).The improvement of headache in the test group after 2 weeks of discontinuation was still very significant and even better than that after treatment(P<0.01),while the improvement of headache in the control group was not significantly higher than that after treatment but still maintained(P>0.05);compared between groups, the improvement of headache in the test group after 2 weeks of discontinuation was significantly better than that in the control group(P<0.01).TCM symptoms:After treatment, the test group was statistically significantly effective in improving the symptoms of hyperactivity of liver yang(P<0.05),while the control group was ineffective in improving the TCM symptoms of vertigo and tinnitus and irritability(P>0.05),and was significantly effective in improving the remaining TCM symptoms(P<0.05);compared between groups, the test group was statistically significantly more effective in improving the symptoms of head distension and pain, irritability and irritability, redness of the face and redness of the eyes, and in improving the symptoms of headache. In comparison between groups, the efficacy of the test group was more significant in improving the symptoms of headache, irritability, redness of the face and eyes and the overall TCM score(P<0.05),while the results of the two groups were comparable in improving other TCM symptoms(P>0.05);the total effective rate of the test group was 86.67%and the total effective rate of the control group was 63.33%.The total TCM symptom scores of the two groups were observed at the follow-up visit 2 weeks after the cessation of treatment.<0.05).Improvement of negative psychology and quality of life:the anxiety and depression of patients in both groups were evaluated by SAS and SDS scales at follow-up after 2 weeks of drug discontinuation, and by statistical tests, both groups showed significant differences compared with those before treatment(P<0.05),and there was a statistical difference between the groups(P<0.05),so both the test group and the control group could improve patients' anxiety The quality of life of patients in both groups was evaluated by SF-36 scale, and the test group showed significant improvement(P<0.05)in these eight dimensions compared with that before treatment, while the control group showed significant improvement(P<0.05)in the dimensions of improved vitality(VT),role-physical function(RP),and bodily pain(BP)compared with that before treatment.Significantly improved(P<0.05),but not in the dimensions of physical function(PF),general health(GH),social function(SF),role-emotional(RE),and mental health(MH)(P>0.05),and there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in the dimension of health transition(HT)compared with that before treatment(P>0.05);compared between the two groups,by Statistical tests showed that the test group was better than the control group in the dimensions of RE,MH,BP,VT,and SF(P<0.05),and there were no significant differences between the two groups in other aspects(P>0.05).Therefore,both Tianmagouteng decoction combined with acupressure and only given Tianmagouteng decoction improved the patients' quality of life, but the former improvement was more comprehensive and better than the latter.Conclusion.1.Both groups had significant efficacy on the improvement of clinical symptoms of headache, but the Tianmagouteng decoction combined with acupressure was significantly better than Tianmagouteng decoction alone in reducing the intensity of headache, improving concomitant symptoms and improving the overall situation of headache, and the long-term efficacy of the former was more significant than that of the latter.2.The Tianmagouteng decoction combined with acupressure was significantly more effective in improving the symptoms of hyperactivity of liver yang, and it was significantly better than taking Tianmagouteng decoction alone in improving the symptoms of head swelling and pain, irritability, redness and redness of the face and total TCM score, and the former was more effective in the long-term maintenance of the symptoms of hyperactivity of liver yang.3.Both Tianmagouteng decoction combined with acupressure and Tianmagouteng decoction alone can improve patients' negative psychology such as anxiety and depression, but the former has more significant efficacy.4.The quality of life of patients was improved more comprehensively and the efficacy was more significant with the combination of Tianmagouteng decoction combined with acupressure than with the single Tianmagouteng decoction.
