China is one of the countries with the fastest development of population aging. At present,China not only has a large number of elderly population, but also has a high proportion of disability.Aging is also China’s national condition in the 21 st century."Getting old before getting rich" has put forward a severe test for China’s current development. Therefore, actively dealing with population aging has become a strategic task. The traditional home-based elderly care model will become more and more difficult when the core family and the "421" new family structure are becoming more and more common. Therefore, the demand for socialized elderly care services has increased significantly. In elderly care institutions, elderly care nurses are the main undertakers of elderly care services.Nowadays, problems such as heavy workload, unreasonable age structure and tense care relationship are the main factors of work pressure of elderly care nurses.Compared with self-care elderly nurses, the workload and work difficulty of disabled elderly nurses are much greater, and the work pressure is greatly increased. Many studies have pointed out that excessive work pressure will do great harm to workers’ physical and mental health, reduce work efficiency and work quality, and then have a negative impact on care services and the quality of life of the elderly. The research on the work pressure of nurses is conducive to improve the work ability and service level of nurses and promote the development of the elderly care industry.Based on literature research, questionnaire survey, participatory observation and structured interview, the author uses Robbins stress model to analyze the formation process of work stress of disabled elderly nurses. This paper explores the pressure sources of service objects from three aspects: environment, organization and personal factors.Through comprehensive analysis,it is found that the disabled elderly nurses in elderly care institutions have some problems, such as high work pressure, lack of stress relief methods, serious anxiety, tense care relationship, insufficient team cohesion and so on.Combined with the interactive characteristics of the stress model, social workers carried out group work intervention from the two dimensions of stress relief and improving nurses’ stress resistance ability. They carried out seven group activities from the aspects of identifying stress and its hazards, eliminating anxiety of the elderly, learning professional ethics, improving work skills and problem-solving ability alone, enhancing team cohesion and easing care relations. The specific pressure perception of group members before and after intervention was tested according to the caregiver work stress scale.Through the comparison of the intervention results,it was confirmed that the combination of social work professional theory and Robbins stress model was effective in helping disabled elderly caregivers in elderly care institutions to relieve work stress. The end of this paper also summarizes and reflects on this group activity,in order to provide reference for similar activities. |
