The problem of juvenile delinquency is becoming more and more prominent, and the crime rate of underage people is gradually increasing. They are the great builders of the country’s future. In order to guarantee the healthy physical and mental development of minors and cultivate their good character, the state has accelerated the pace of revising and promulgating the Law of the People’s Republic of China on the Prevention of Juvenile Delinquency. However,it is not only necessary to prevent minors from committing crimes, but also to prevent minors who have already been involved in crimes from committing them again. In this context,it is important to actively explore the real causes behind the repeated delinquency of minors and try to use the Rational Emotive Therapy model to intervene in the study to provide a hint of help for the future of the country.Based on interviews with relevant personnel and analysis of scale test results, this study found that the real cause of Xiao F’s delinquent behavior was his own irrational beliefs and distress by bad emotions, and on this basis,we tried to use the rational emotion therapy model to correct his irrational cognition and help him get rid of his bad emotions.distress,in order to correct his delinquent behavior. In this study,we designed a case intervention plan based on Little F’s problems and needs, and assisted Little F in finding his irrational beliefs and arguing with Little F’s irrational beliefs,so as to form new rational beliefs, get rid of his bad emotions, and help him improve his parent-child communication, sort out his life goals, start a new rational life, and return to society.Through eight case interviews and one group activity intervention, based on the pre-and post-measurement scales, feedback from Little F and his mother,it was found that Little F’s cognitive problems and emotional problems were resolved, and Little F’s behavioral problems were solved. This study presents the whole process of case intervention in detail and makes reflections and recommendations on the practice of case intervention.Overall, the use of the rational emotion therapy model in the behavior modification of crime-involved minors has been effective.Judicial social workers can apply this model to their practice, which can not only help the group of crime-involved minors from emotional distress and avoid reoffending, but also help them develop healthy re-socialization physically and mentally.
