Abstract/Summary:
College students are different from middle school students.The focus of their lives has gradually shifted from heavy academic work to social interaction.Interpersonal communication has become one of the necessary skills for every college student.Social skills directly affect their life and future career development.Among the many psychological problems of college students,social anxiety is quite common.Social anxiety not only affects the individual’s physiology,such as sweating,increased blood pressure,rapid heartbeat,and throat congestion,but also affects the individual’s emotions,making them feel ashamed,further avoiding social interaction,and affecting the individual’s normal.Studying and living,the more social anxiety,the more avoidance of social interaction,and so on,forming a vicious circle.Group psychological counseling is often used in colleges and universities to intervene in freshmen’s adaptation and interpersonal relationships,and is a very mature psychological intervention.Group psychological counseling is to form a group with the same goal through the guidance of leaders with professional quality and multiple group members.Through at least six group activities,members influence each other and make progress together for the same goal.Based on the characteristics of college students’ psychological age,this study conducted a survey on the current situation of social anxiety among college students in Qinghai Province,and analyzed the overall level of social anxiety and the characteristics of demographic variables.The purpose of intervention is to improve their social adaptability,reduce the level of social anxiety,and provide a new intervention plan for college students’ mental health group counseling.The research conclusions are as follows:1.32.37% of college students in Qinghai province who scored higher than 17 on the Social Avoidance and Distress scale need high attention from the school;2.There are significant differences in gender,grade,only child,class leader,parenting style and social anxiety among college students;3.There was no significant difference in the source of students,discipline dimension and social anxiety intervention of college students.4.There was significant difference between the experimental group of social anxiety before and after the test,and the score of the post-test was significantly lower than the score of the pre-test;There was no significant difference in the control group.The group-assisted program designed in this study significantly reduced the level of college students’ social anxiety.
