Social adaptation is the focus of cross-disciplinary research in pedagogy,psychology,sociology and other disciplines.College stage is the key period for the formation of individual world outlook and outlook on life.The social adaptation of college students at an important turning point in their life development is related to their healthy development of body and mind and the perfection of their personality.As a member of college students,the college students majoring in physical education have both the particularity of their major and the universality of college students.In recent years,with the strong support of the Party and the country to the cause of sports,the physical education major also ushered in a golden period of development.However,with the increasing demand for sports talents,the problems of social adaptation of college students majoring in physical education have attracted more and more attention from the society.Therefore,in order to promote the overall level of social adaptation of college students majoring in physical education to further improve,according to the group counseling theory,"College Students Social Adaptation Scale" internal five dimensions and the current situation of social adaptation of the group to design the program of group counseling.It is expected to provide targeted group counseling programs for the improvement of social adaptation level and personality of college students majoring in physical education.This article uses literature review method,questionnaire survey method,experimental method,and mathematical statistics method to conduct research.Taking physical education students from 6 universities in Liaoning Province as the research object,investigate the overall social adaptation of the group and the status quo of various internal dimensions.It also compares and analyzes the differences in the overall social adaptation and internal dimensions of different genders,grades,whether or not they are only children,and whether or not they are student leaders.On this basis,30 freshmen in the physical education major of a university in Liaoning Province were selected and divided into an experimental group and a control group,with 15 students in each group.Before the experiment,the 30 physical education majors were issued the "College Students Social Adaptation Scale" for pre-testing,and then the experimental group was given a period of one and a half months,a total of 6 group counseling activities.After the end,the experimental group and the control group were subjected to the same scale post-test,and then it was concluded whether the group counseling program had a positive impact on the improvement of the social adaptation level of the group.The research results show that the overall social adaptation and internal dimensions of physical education college students in Liaoning Province are at a moderately high level.However,it is worth noting that the minimum average of the social adaptation of this group is lower than the median value,indicating that there is also The level of social adaptation of some students needs to be improved.Different genders show significant differences in the dimensions of learning adaptation;different grades have very significant differences in the dimensions of overall social adaptation,future adaptation,psychological adaptation,and interpersonal adaptation,and there are significant differences in the dimensions of learning adaptation;whether the only child will adapt in the future,There are significant differences in the dimensions of psychological adaptation;whether there are very significant differences in the dimensions of psychological adaptation among student cadres,there are significant differences in the dimensions of interpersonal adaptation and overall social adaptation.After group counseling activities,the experimental group compared with the control group in terms of overall social adaptation and the mean scores of internal dimensions have been significantly improved,which proves that this group counseling activity can improve the social adaptation level of college students majoring in physical education in Liaoning Province The effect is remarkable.
