| In recent years,with the aggravation of the problem of population aging,the needs of a large number of elderly groups are gradually increasing.To cope with such problems,social participation and national action are needed.Colleges and universities are the main organizations and carriers for college students to participate in the volunteer service for the elderly.It is of great practical significance for college students to participate in the volunteer service for the elderly,which can effectively make up for some deficiencies and shortcomings of the ideological and political education in colleges and universities.College students’ participation in voluntary service can not only improve their own ideological and moral quality,but also improve their own subjectivity.At the same time,voluntary service greatly enriches the spiritual life of college students and becomes an effective way for colleges and universities to achieve the purpose of ideological and political education in the new period.Based on this,this study combs the related concepts of college students’ voluntary service and group counseling,and expounds the relevant theories to provide the theoretical basis for the following.Taking college students as the research object,using literature method,interview method and participation observation method to analyze,it is found that college students’ ability of voluntary service for the aged is generally weak.In view of the existing shortcomings,the author adopts the means of group counseling,under the guidance of group dynamics,interpersonal communication theory and other theories,has formulated a targeted optimization scheme,respectively with empathy,cooperation,communication,listening and expression and willpower five unit theme program design,to achieve the purpose of improving college students’ ability to volunteer for the aged.After group counseling,the volunteers of the two groups(reference group and experimental group)volunteered in the designated old-age care institutions,and the obtained data were statistically analyzed by comparing the experimental methods.On this basis,the effectiveness of group counseling in improving college students’ ability of voluntary service for the aged was discussed.Research showed that there were significant differences between the experimental group and the reference group on four scales after group counseling,among which the empathy ability,cooperation ability and willpower were significantly different(P<0.001),and the listening and expression ability were significantly different(P<0.05).Through the above experiments,we found that group counseling can effectively improve the ability of college students to volunteer for the aged,but there is still a certain gap with the expected effect.In view of the problems existing in the service of college students,drawing lessons from the excellent experience at home and abroad.It is summarized and suggested that colleges and universities should strengthen ideological and political education and build a long-term mechanism of college students’ voluntary service by virtue of the carrier function of college students’ voluntary service.Meanwhile,college students should also improve their service consciousness and ability under the guidance of volunteerism. |
