The indoor public environment of kindergarten is an important activity environment in children’s daily life.It consists of four parts: entrance hall,corridor,staircase and activity room,which not only undertakes the transportation function of the whole kindergarten,but also has educational and entertainment functions.As the main body of the environment,children should be the participants of the indoor public environment.However,due to the deviation of teachers’ concepts,the indoor public environment only becomes a space for display.With the promotion of the Convention on the Rights of the Child,research through the perspective of children has become a new research paradigm.Relevant research on environment creation based on children’s perspective has begun to emerge,but the existing research has not carried out a comprehensive and systematic investigation of indoor public environment from the perspective of children.This study is based on child-centered theory and ecological theory.First,through observation,interview,travel,painting,and autonomous photography in the mosaic method,20 children from the S kindergarten in H city were studied for their expected indoor public environment.Combined with NVivo12 qualitative analysis software to code and analyze children’s thoughts,the indoor public environment expected by children is divided into three parts: space,material and function.Secondly,through a specific analysis of children’s thoughts,the researcher concluded that the indoor public environment expected by children has six characteristics,including fun,multi-function,participation,interaction,aesthetics,and safety.Finally,the researcher summarizes the problems existing in the construction of indoor public environment,and makes attribution analysis from the two levels of preschool teachers and kindergartens,and then put forward effective suggestions for improving the creation of indoor public environment.
