Research On The Reading Environment Of Kindergarten Library Based On Children's Perspective

With the increasing importance of early reading,many kindergartens are o equipped with kindergarten libraries.The reading environment in the library,as an important factor in carrying children's reading and activities,can significantly affect the reading situation of young children.In many of the existing studies on the reading environment,most of them focus on the empirical analysis of the current situation survey and the adult perspective.As the main users of the kindergarten library,what kind of reading environment do they expect?Therefore,from the perspective of children,this study invites 51 children to participate in the research,using mosaic method,starting from the two aspects of children's ideals and real-life library,using qualitative analysis software Nvivoll as an analysis tool for young children.Interviews and works are coded and analyzed to listen to children's voices and understand the characteristics of their favorite library.Through research,it is found that the reading environment of young children in the library mainly focuses on the three dimensions of physical environment,spiritual environment and institutional environment.In this study,the specific characteristics of children in these three dimensions are analyzed:in the physical environment,children expect the library to provide rich,interesting,practical,and appropriate materials,which can have Aesthetic,neat,situational,interactive environment layout,and spatial layout with intimate and interactive spaces.In a spiritual environment,young children expect a spiritual environment that is comfortable,safe,enjoyable,and free.In the institutional environment,in the rules of the library,young children expect to be able to participate in the formulation of rules in the library and reduce the number of rules in the library;in the management of the library,the children hope that the materials can be updated and maintained in a timely manner.Also,the researchers analyzed the problems existing in the reading environment of the kindergarten library through the perspective of children,and found that the status quo emphasizes the creation of the physical environment,but the spiritual environment and the institutional environment are neglected;there is a "facade project" in the material placement and environmental arrangement.Ignore the real needs of young children;lack of freedom and autonomy in the spiritual environment;the role of teachers is not accurate and comprehensive;the reading schedule is not flexible,the system construction is imperfect,and there is a lack of scientific and effective management.At the end of the study,the researchers also interviewed two teachers who participated in the creation and led the children to enter the library.They analyzed the dilemma of the current library room for children.The current dilemma mainly lies in the lack of teachers' energy and lack of professional knowledge.The support and the lack of listening to young children in the creation and use of the library.The researchers also put forward suggestions for it:First,improve the awareness of listening to young children,clarify the needs of young children in reading activities,and invite young children to participate in the creation and management of the library.Second,enhance the professional knowledge of teachers,seek the help of professionals,and scientifically create a kindergarten library.Third,establish a multi-party resource community such as parents,communities,neighboring colleges and universities,comprehensively use various resources,and jointly create and manage a library.
