This study aims to explore the influence of proactive personality on subjective well-being of college students and the internal mechanism of proactive personality on subjective well-being,and to test the chain mediating effect of basic psychological needs and general self-efficacy.The research adopts proactive personality scale,College studengts’ basic psychological needs scale,general self-efficacy scale and happiness index scale to measure the basic situation of individual proactive personality,basic psychological needs satisfaction,general self-efficacy and subjective well-being respectively.This study selected a total of 546 college students in Harbin for investigation,and the results show that:(1)The proactive personality score of college students is above the average level.The results of demographic variable difference test show that there is a significant difference in proactive personality in major,which is embodied in that the score of proactive personality of college students majoring in science and technology is significantly higher than that of college students majoring in literature and history.(2)The scores of college students’ basic psychological needs are above the average level,and competency needs,autonomy needs and relationship needs are above the average level.There are significant differences between relationship needs and autonomy needs,and between relationship needs and competence needs.There were no significant differences in the demographic variables of basic psychological needs and its various dimensions.(3)College students’ general self-efficacy score is in the middle level.The differences of general self-efficacy in gender,grade and major were significant.Specifically,the level of general self-efficacy of male college students is significantly higher than that of female college students.The level of general self-efficacy of juniors and seniors was significantly higher than that of sophomores.The level of general selfefficacy of college students majoring in science and technology is significantly higher than that of college students majoring in literature and history.(4)The level of subjective well-being of college students is above the average level.There is a significant difference in the subjective well-being of college students in terms of majors.Specifically,the level of subjective well-being of college students majoring in science and technology is significantly higher than that of college students majoring in literature and history.(5)Correlation analysis results show that proactive personality,basic psychological needs,general self-efficacy and subjective well-being of college students are significantly correlated with each other.(6)Intermediary effect test results show that college students’ proactive personality can significantly positively predict subjective well-being directly,but can be by basic psychological needs or general self-efficacy of the intermediary role positively predict subjective well-being,can also through the basic psychological needs and general selfefficacy chain of intermediary role to predict subjective well-being.
