| Social mindfulness behavior is a kind of low-cost prosocial behavior that conveys kindness in interpersonal communication.Social mindfulness behavior can promote cooperation in interpersonal communication.The interpersonal communication of individuals in daily life is often inseparable from the interaction in the group situation,but there is no research to explore the effect factors of individual social mindfulness in the group level.According to the existing research results,this research focuses on the influence of group identity and social value orientation on social mindfulness,to promote the development of the theory development of social mindfulness.First,uses the So Mi paradigm to design a pre-experiment to test the applicability of the social mindfulness paradigm.Then,using the minimal group paradigm and the So Mi paradigm,two experiments are designed to explore the effect factors of social mindfulness of college students in different group identities.Experiment 1 explores the influence of different group identities on the social mindfulness of college students with different social value orientations;Experiment 2 explores the influence of different group identities on the social mindfulness of college students with different social value orientations and group status.The results of experiment 1 show:(1)College students’ social value orientation has an impact on their social mindfulness,and the social mindfulness of prosocial oriented college students is significantly higher than that of proself oriented college students.(2)Group identity does not affect the social mindfulness of college students.(3)Social value orientation and group identity have an interactive effect on social mindfulness.There is no significant difference in the social mindfulness of college students with prosocial value orientation towards in-group members and out-group members.But the social mindfulness of college students with proself value orientation toward in-group members is significantly higher than that toward out-group members.The results of experiment 2show:(1)Group status has no effect on social mindfulness of college students.(2)Social value orientation,group identity and group status have an interactive effect on social mindfulness.For prosocial college students,when they are in the low-status group,the social mindfulness toward in-group members is significantly higher.While when they are in the high-status group,the social mindfulness toward in-and out-group members does not exist significant difference.For college students with proself orientation,when they are in the low-status group,their social mindfulness towards in-group members is marginal significantly lower,and when they are in the high-status group,their social mindfulness toward in-group members is significantly higher.In conclusion:(1)At the group level,college students with different social value orientations have different social mindfulness towards members of in-and out-groups.Prosocial value oriented college students tend to maintain higher social mindfulness towards members of in-and out-groups;while proself oriented college students have higher social mindfulness towards in-group members.(2)When in different status groups,college students with different social value orientations have different social mindfulness towards in-and out-group members.When in a low-status group,prosocial oriented college students maintain higher social mindfulness towards disadvantaged in-group members;when in a high-status group,prosocial oriented college students maintain high social mindfulness towards both in-and out-group members.When in a low-status group,preself oriented college students tend to maintain higher social mindfulness towards advantaged out-group members;when in a high-status group,perself oriented college students tend to maintain higher social mindfulness towards advantaged in-group members. |
