Labor is one of the most essential disciplines for individuals, and the school-based curriculum for labor education is a key initiative to promote the scientific, regular, and in-depth nature of labor education.Under the positive call of the state, some elementary schools have developed and implemented school-based labor education programs, however, some issues have been exposed at the same time.Consequently, based on sketching the ideal model of school-based curriculum for labor education in primary schools, this study uses Primary School A in Chengdu as an illustration, supplemented by a survey method,to clarify the current situation of curriculum implementation, then summarize experiences, perspective of the problems, analyze the causes, and finally propose optimization strategies. This study presents the following five main parts:First,to identify the significance of optimizing the school-based curriculum of labor education in primary school, clarify the relevant concepts and the status of research, and design action paths to provide theoretical support and action guidelines for subsequent research.Second,to sketch the ideal model of school-based curriculum for primary school labor education by sorting out relevant literature and policies, this study sketched out the ideal model of school-based curriculum for primary school labor education: trilateral linkage, the logic of high-quality development of curriculum;five-dimensional expansion, the logic of sustainable development of curriculum;"the Integration of Five Education ",the logic of three-dimensional development of curriculum.Third,to clarify the current situation of curriculum implementation and to analyze the existing problems.Taking Primary School A in Chengdu as an illustration, supplemented by documentary research method and survey research method,it is found that the following problems exist in its curriculum implementation: bias in curriculum perception, narrow and poorly implemented curriculum objectives, single curriculum content and lack of systematic planning, difficulty in implementing curriculum, poor curriculum evaluation system, and insufficient curriculum protection.Fourth,to explore the reasons for the problems of curriculum implementation. It is found that the problems are mainly rooted in: the erosion of individual cognition by bad culture, poor policy interpretation, insufficient resource mining, weak multi-faceted power,test-taking thinking, and weak government support.Fifth,to improve the implementation of the curriculum: initially, scientific curriculum cognition: updating teachers’ cognition, reshaping students’ cognition, reversing parents’ cognition and creating a good social atmosphere;what’s more, optimizing curriculum objectives: establishing a multiple value-oriented objective system and gradually refining it;then, expand the content of the curriculum: both inheritance and modernity, strengthen the integration with other disciplines, and deepen the family and social resources;next in importance, strengthen the implementation of the curriculum:improve the teaching and learning implementation methods, improve the teaching and learning implementation environment, form a diversified and highly qualified teacher team, expand the implementation field, and deepen the cooperation between the family, school and society;in the next part, improve the evaluation of the curriculum: the comprehensiveness of the evaluation content, the diversity of evaluation subjects, and the integration of evaluation methods;last but not least, increase the protection of the curriculum: improve the policy support system, strengthen the supervision of the curriculum, increase financial investment, and pay attention to teacher training.
