Study Of Social Work Embedment Into Community "Smart" Retirement Services’Pathway

Presently,China’s "9073" retirement pattern shows that 90% of the elderly are cared for by their families.This poses the question: how do we use the limited and small-sized family to care for the retired elderly? Our highly technological society today germinated a new model of intelligent care for the elderly,which we will name as the “smart” retirement service.This an innovation getting us closer towards solving the stated problem,however,there are still some adaptive problems to be considered when used by itself.The concept of social work has its own significant advantages that can contribute to the community “smart” retirement services and possibly solve its problems,it can not only perfect the theory of embedding social work,but also put forward the path that social workers could take to help solve the problems of the “smart” elderly service.More so,it would also improve and modernize the practical field of social work for the elderly at the same time.This study uses the aging citizens of community J for the experiment as an example of the statement “collective aging and empty nests”.Through the interview of the J community staff,“smart” retirement services "love care" staff and two community elderly people,we received further insight on the development of the“smart” retirement services.Through the method of actual field visits to the “Love Care” center,we gained basic understanding of the situation there,and analyzed reasons for the problems the J community “smart” retirement service faces from the perspective of social work.Lastly,we also analyzed and summarized the environment in which social work fits into the community “smart” retirement services in community J,the precondition for entrance,and the best way of embedding social work based on the findings of this research.This study considers the path of social work embedment in J community to be divided into three aspects: conceptual,methiodal,and relational embedment paths.In greater detail,concept embedding is the foundation and basis,method embedding is the content,and relationship embedding is the key aspect.The “smart” retirement services of community J should provide services based on the cooperation between the families,communities,social workers and retirement centers.In this process,social workers and people who take care of the elderly work together to assess the elderly’s needs,and in the process embed the concept of professional value within social work into the retirement service,using the profession methods of social work to benefit both the elderly and their caregivers.To conclude,the addition of social work into the process of retirement services would be hugely beneficial since more of the elderly’s many needs can now be satisfied.It is safe to believe that through the addition of social work,“smart” retirement care can in turn become more precious and warmhearted,so that both the elderly and intelligent technologies can grow and develop together.
