Research On The Intervention Of Social Work Institutions In Improving The Quality Of Life Of Urban Empty Nesters

With the increasing trend of aging,there is a new group of empty nesters in the society.With the weakening of family support function,there are many empty nesters in cities.The rapid development of the times has brought people a higher quality of life,and the requirements for the quality of life of the urban empty nest elderly in China are also constantly improving.Therefore,improving the quality of life of urban empty nesters,enriching their old life and meeting their development needs become the goal of the whole society.Based on the actual life of the empty nesters in J community,this paper aims to study how social work institutions can better help the empty nesters to improve their quality of life.In terms of research methods,this paper selects the urban empty nest elderly in J community as the research object through questionnaire survey.In the investigation,this paper refers to the World Health Organization Quality of life measurement scale(WHOQOL-BREF)short form,from the three aspects of physical health,mental health and social interaction to investigate the quality of life of urban empty nesters.In the research content,first of all,combined with the professional theory of social work,this paper summarizes and collates the literature on the quality of life of urban empty nesters in recent years from the perspective of social work for the elderly.Secondly,in the YF community service project for the elderly,we investigated the quality of life of empty nesters in J community,and participated in all levels of service activities provided by social work institutions.Finally,through the comparison of pre-test and post-test of the questionnaire and service activities,it is concluded that the quality of life of urban empty nesters is generally not optimistic,the service items of social work institutions for the elderly are conducive to improving the quality of life of urban empty nesters,and the service provision ability of social work institutions needs to be improved.Finally,the paper puts forward countermeasures and suggestions to improve the quality of life of urban empty nesters from four aspects: increasing the investment of social work institutions for the elderly,strengthening the ability of social work institutions,strengthening the cooperation between community and social work institutions,and giving full play to the professional advantages of social work team,so as to achieve the purpose of improving the quality of life of urban empty nesters.
