Infectious diseases are a serious threat to human life and health.Pre-school children are weakly affected by their anatomical and physiological characteristics.In a crowded place like kindergarten,it is easy to cause the spread of infectious diseases,which not only endangers the health of sick children,but also harms other children,and even causes kindergartens to stop.The kindergarten also affects the normal work of parents of young children.According to the theoretical model of knowledge,belief and behavior,the acquisition of health knowledge is the basis for the formation of health behavior.Improving children’s awareness of infectious diseases will help them form healthy behaviors,thereby effectively preventing the occurrence and spread of infectious diseases.However,there are few studies on children’s cognition of infectious diseases,which is not conducive to scientific and reasonable development of infectious disease prevention education activities.Based on this,this study compiles testing tools based on the concept of infectious diseases and the three basic links(source of infection,route of transmission,and susceptible persons)of the occurrence and prevalence of infectious diseases.A total of180 children in three age groups,including large,middle and small classes,were surveyed in a kindergarten affiliated to a university in L city and a public kindergarten in a rural area.The survey on the concept of infectious diseases includes three questions:the definition of infectious diseases,the explanation of the cause,and the distinction of infectious characteristics;the three basic links of the occurrence and epidemic of infectious diseases are selected from 8 preventive measures that young children are familiar with.Let young children judge and explain why.The study found that young children have a low level of awareness of the concept of infectious diseases;they have a better understanding of the three basic links of the occurrence and epidemic of infectious diseases;there are some significant differences in cognition of infectious diseases in urban and rural areas and in age;accordingly,The characteristics of children’s cognition of infectious diseases are as follows: cognition of the concept of infectious diseases is mythical;understanding the cause of infectious diseases with a "pre-causal" thinking;strong awareness of infectious disease prevention;awareness of infectious diseases Jagged.Combining interviews with teachers and parents,it is found that children’s thinking development level,cognitive process and life experience,kindergarten’s environmental facilities,teachers’ knowledge of infectious diseases and educational strategies,parents’ knowledge reserves,educational concepts and behaviors,and the positive and negative influences of mass media will all be affected.Affect young children’s cognition of infectious diseases.Finally,combining the children’s cognition and characteristics of infectious diseases and influencing factors,the following suggestions are put forward: according to the children’s cognition level and characteristics of infectious diseases,rationally organize educational activities;enrich children’s knowledge and experience of infectious diseases through various channels;Strengthen pre-service and post-employment education to enrich teachers’ knowledge of infectious diseases;use multiple resources to change parents’ awareness of prevention and education of infectious diseases;improve children’s awareness of infectious disease prevention through parents’ words and deeds.
