Infectious disease is a kind of disease which harms human beings heavily, and it is the major cause of human death. Because of many features of campus life, the risk of outbreaks of infectious disease is serious, especially in Colleges and universities in our country. And broadly speaking, Risk refers to the possibility of all events or behaviours that do harm to people and things that people care. The essence of Risk is its uncertainty. Risk communication is the exchange of information and views of the interactions between individuals, groups and institutions; the nature of this process involves multi-lateral and related information transaction; including the expression of risky events they concern, opinions and the corresponding responses, or issued regulations and measures in risk management of countries or institutions. In order to better prevent and control infectious disease epidemic situation in Colleges and universities, to keep the public rational, the work of risk communication of infectious disease to college Students-susceptible population is very necessary. At present, there are few research literatures in this specific field. I just take use of studying comprehensive related literatures and investigate the actual situation of the infectious disease prevention and control risk communication work by interview in universities. Then I can conclude some suggestions.Specific suggestions include as follows. First, universities should establish a valid management and operation system for their own health disease control (including the risk communication). Clarify the responsibilities of schools and its subordinate departments (including the rights, obligations and mutual cooperations) and equip suitable staff for all departments; make clear verification and approval information procedures. Second, universities should formulate overall plans about infectious disease prevention and control and the risk communication work, preparations for risk communication work are very important. Third, universities should pay more attention to the daily period of health and disease prevention and control (especially infectious diseases) propaganda. Fourth, attach importance to the timeliness and correctness of the information being issued. Fifth, the communication contents and specific techniques of universities in risk communication processes is very comprehensive, need further research and improvement. Sixth, enrich and perfect the way(or technologies) for universities to communicate with students, especially new media technologies. Seventh, in recent years two-way interaction and participation of the public is the hot topic in the research field of risk communication, so it deserves much attention.
