| Qinghai,located in the northwest of China,has always been a typical multi-ethnic gathering area.As the mainstay of the development of all ethnic groups,minority college students have a healthy psychology,which is the most basic guarantee for their life,learning,social interaction and development.In the past,the mental health education in Colleges and universities often followed the traditional negative psychological model,which was often "treating head with headache,treating foot with foot pain".This way makes students get rid of psychological problems on the surface,but in fact ignores students’ subjective initiative,and passively accepts the correction of psychological problems.This mode is no longer suitable for college students in the new era to pursue independent thinking,the courage to undertake the goal of life.The emergence of positive psychology turns the research focus to the advantages of human character and positive power.By mining and cultivating good psychological quality,we can enhance the subjective well-being of individuals,so as to improve the level of personal mental health.However,in the research field of positive psychology,most of the researches on how to improve the mental health level of college students,including ethnic minority students,by cultivating their positive psychological quality are focused on cross-sectional and intervention,and there are also some intermediary studies,but there are few longitudinal studies.Therefore,this study adopts a longitudinal research design to investigate the overall situation,development trend and characteristics of positive psychological quality and mental health of ethnic minority college students,and further explore the causal relationship between positive psychological quality and mental health,as well as the key predictive factors of mental health.It is expected to create a new way of thinking and realization for the mental health education of ethnic minority college students in China.Methods: a total of 551 ethnic minority college students were randomly selected as the research objects,and the four scales of "Chinese college students’ positive quality scale"," Satisfaction With Life Scale "," Positive Affect Scale " and "Depression Anxiety Stress Scale" were tested twice every six months.The data were analyzed by SPSS20.0 and AMOS22.0.Results:(1)after the interval of 6 months,the positive psychological quality of Qinghai minority college students was significantly improved,and their mental health level was also significantly improved;(2)In the two tests,the positive psychological quality of Qinghai minority college students is positively correlated with the positive index of mental health,and negatively correlated with the negative index of mental health;(3)the positive mental quality of Qinghai minority college students can predict the level of mental health across time,and the level of mental health can also predict the positive mental quality across time;(4)Positive psychological quality,gender,grade,only child or not and family location can predict the mental health level of minority college students.Conclusion: the positive psychological quality of Qinghai minority college students can be used as a antecedent variable to affect mental health,and can also be used as a result variable to be affected by mental health.Therefore,we can improve the mental health level of minority college students by cultivating their positive psychological quality. |
