Xining is located in the plateau area,belongs to the ethnic concentration area,and high school students are in the stage of adolescence,the body,sexual development,secretion system,psychological and ideological aspects have undergone huge changes,the body functions develop rapidly,and each tissue and organ develop soundly.From adolescence to maturity,their outlook on life,worldview and values are gradually established,which is one of the most important developmental stages in life and needs more attention.Therefore,this study investigated the current situation of positive psychological qualities of 716 high school students by distributing the questionnaire of Positive Psychological Qualities Scale for Chinese Primary and Secondary School Students on behalf of high school students in a middle school in Xining.Next,a recruitment method was used to screen 30 students as the subject group after the SCL-90 questionnaire,15 students formed the experimental group and15 students formed the control group.Students in the experimental group conducted mental health activity sessions,while students in the control group only watched videos and listened to music in addition to their daily life studies.To explore the effect of mental health activity classes on the enhancement of positive psychological qualities of high school students in a middle school in Xining,and to provide practical guidance for future mental health education work in middle schools.The research on the positive psychological quality of high school students in a middle school in Xining showed that:(1)The overall positive psychological quality of high school students in a middle school in Xining was good,with a score of225.03±34.296,and the mean value of each dimension score was greater than 3.From the score of each dimension,we can find that the high school students were in good condition in each dimension,and the transcendence dimension(44.40±7.492)> the bravery dimension(42.57±6.997)> Moderation dimension(36.45±7.106)> Wisdom and knowledge dimension(35.5±7.997)> Knowledge dimension(35.5±7.997).Wisdom and knowledge dimension(35.85±7.194)> Humanity dimension(33.57±6.191)> Justice dimension(32.19±6.197);(2)There were significant differences in the overall level of positive psychological qualities among high school students in a middle school in Xining in terms of gender,grade,literature and science subjects,and whether they live in school or not.The scores of male students were significantly higher than those of female students(p≤0.01),the overall level of positive psychological quality of senior students was significantly higher than that of sophomore and junior students(p<0.001),the overall level of positive psychological quality of undifferentiated subjects was significantly higher than that of science and arts subjects(p<0.001),and the overall level of positive psychological quality of students who lived in school was significantly higher than that of students who went to school(p<0.05).(3)There is no significant difference in the overall level of positive psychological quality among high school students in a middle school in Xining on whether they are only children or not.(4)Mental health activity classes had an enhancing effect on the positive psychological qualities of high school students in a middle school in Xining,with significant increases in the Wisdom and knowledge dimension(p<0.01),Bravery dimension(p<0.05),Justice dimension(p<0.05),Transcendence dimension(p<0.01),and total score of positive psychological qualities(p<0.001),and insignificant increases in the Humanity dimension and Moderation dimension.This study shows that:(1)The positive psychological quality of high school students in a middle school in Xining is generally good;(2)There are significant differences in the positive psychological quality of high school students in a middle school in Xining in terms of gender,grade,whether they live in school,and literature and science subjects.(3)Mental health activity classes can effectively improve the positive psychological quality of high school students in a middle school in Xining in multiple dimensions. |
