The quality of kindergarten teachers in rural areas is one of the key factors that determine the quality of preschool in rural areas.The purpose of this study is to enrich the research on the competency of the rural preschool teachers through the extraction of baseline competency and distinctive competency of rural preschool teachers,and to help select and employ rural preschool teachers more rationally,and to promote the professional development of the rural preschool teachers.This study used the method of literature analysis and questionnaire to determine the competence entries of rural Preschool Teachers,compiled the dictionary of competence features of Rural Preschool Teachers,and conducted behavioral event interviews with 10 rural preschool teachers,conduct coding and content analysis of the key events in the interview,and conduct frequency analysis according to the "rural preschool teacher competency checklist",so as to obtain the basic competency of rural preschool teachers,through the comparison and analysis of the competence characteristics between the five excellent rural preschool teachers and the five ordinary rural preschool teachers,we can get the competence characteristics of the rural preschool teachers.The study found that the basic competencies of rural kindergarten teachers include responsibility,respect for others,dedication,hard-working,affinity,enthusiasm,adaptability,integrity,love,childlike;Identify competency features including professional knowledge,communication skills,children’s concepts,class management skills,job satisfaction,flexibility,professionalism,professional skills.On this basis,the researcher combines the previous research results to analyze and discuss the specific meaning of the competency of rural preschool teachers,and on how to apply the competency of rural preschool teachers to select and employ rural preschool teachers,to promote the professional development of rural preschool teachers to put forward specific recommendations.
