| The competence in home-school communication of rural preschool teachers refers to the behaviors and personal traits exhibited by outstanding teachers when engaging in home-school communication in town and village kindergartens.It is the sum of the communication competence elements that preschool teachers should possess as part of their professional role.Improving the competence in home-school communication of rural preschool teachers is beneficial for their professional development,facilitates effective communication between preschool teachers and parents,and promotes parent-teacher collaboration to achieve healthy child development.Given the urgent need to enhance the competence in home-school communication of preschool teachers,and the relatively limited research on this topic in rural Guangxi,this paper aims to investigate the current status and influencing factors of the competence in home-school communication of rural preschool teachers in Guangxi.This paper first systematically reviewed and analyzed the literature to define the core concept of "competence in home-school communication" and based on the theories of the Escalator Model and the Five Elements of Communication,constructed an indicator system for the current situation and influencing factors of home-school communication competence among rural preschool teachers.Drawing on relevant questionnaires,a reliable and valid survey questionnaire for home-school communication competence among rural preschool teachers was developed.A total of 380 questionnaires were distributed to rural preschool teachers in Guangxi,and 335 valid questionnaires were analyzed using SPSS 20.0 software.In addition,9 rural preschool teachers from different types of schools,teaching experience,and employment status were selected for individual interviews.Finally,descriptive statistics,one-way ANOVA,independent sample t-test,principal component analysis,linear regression analysis,and interview research were used to investigate the current situation and influencing factors of home-school communication competence among rural preschool teachers in Guangxi.The research findings showed that the overall level of home-school communication competence among rural preschool teachers in Guangxi was above average,with the highest level of competence in skill-based communication,followed by interpersonal communication,personality traits,and cognitive communication.There were significant differences in home-school communication competence based on educational background,major,age,teaching experience,marital and reproductive status,job title,and the nature of the kindergarten.Furthermore,the comprehensive indicators of parents’ communication attitude,communication mediator,traditional media communication channels,and kindergarten communication system environment positively affect the communication competence of rural preschool teachers in Guangxi.In order to improve the communication competence of rural preschool teachers in Guangxi,this paper puts forward four suggestions based on the research results: First,improve the interpersonal cognition level of rural preschool teachers in Guangxi.Second,improve the communication mediator of rural preschool teachers in Guangxi.Third,improve the traditional media communication channels of rural preschool teachers in Guangxi.Fourth,improve the communication system environment for rural kindergartens in Guangxi. |
