Oral cancer is one of the important diseases that affect human health.According to surveys,the number of oral cancer patients in the United States is increasing by 100,000 every year,and at the same time,270,000 oral cancer patients are diagnosed in Asian countries every year.Cancer patients not only bear a certain degree of financial burden during chemotherapy,but also suffer from cancer and side effects of chemotherapy.Generally,their life satisfaction is not high,psychological conditions are bad,and normal social support is not available.Lower life satisfaction will have a negative impact on the treatment and daily life of cancer patients during chemotherapy,and a professional medical social work team is urgently needed to help such groups.This study is based on the researcher’s 6-month professional internship at Cancer Specialty Hospital in Z province.researcher noticed cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy in the hospital during daily rounds.Through literature review,consultation with medical staff in the department and daily interviews,the researcher evaluated this group in the way of social,family,economic,psychological status and social support perspectives,found that this group suffers from a long-term toleration of cancer and side effects of chemotherapy.Their psychological condition is relatively poor,and at the same time,the economic burden is heavy and the lack of due social support,resulting in generally low life satisfaction of this group.Under the premise of previous interviews and evaluations,the researchers screened cancer patients during the chemotherapy period who were willing to participate in this study through a questionnaire,and adopted experimental method,set up an experimental group and a control group,and applied narrative treatment to cases social work intervention improving cancer patients’ life satisfaction during the chemotherapy period.Narrative therapy is currently a widely used psychotherapy technique,which can promote the transformation of oral cancer patients during chemotherapy.First,the researcher took the case and established a good trust relationship with the client.Through a largenumber of interviews and questionnaires,we can understand the basic information,psychological status,social interactions and important life experiences of the client.Then on this basis,the researcher and the client jointly formulate service goals and service plans.Secondly,the researcher used the techniques of narrative treatment to intervene in the way of case social work,listened to the life stories of oral cancer patients during chemotherapy,and found their problem narratives.Through externalization and deconstruction of the problem narratives caused by cancer to their lives,the researcher can help the client find exceptional stories,rewrite the narrative of the problem,improve their bad mental state and their life satisfaction.In the final evaluation process,through the experimental group and the control group,we found that this study used narrative treatment to improve the life satisfaction of cancer patients during chemotherapy worked well.The specific performance is that their life satisfaction has been improved,the psychological status has been better,and the social support network of the client has been expanded,thereby improving its social support level.In the chapter of summary,reflection and suggestion,the researcher made a summary of the main content of the research and the results achieved,and made a profound introspection of the research from the intervention preparation stage,intervention process stage and intervention evaluation stage,and finally put forward suggestions from cancer patients during chemotherapy,medical social workers,hospitals and the government.
