Breast cancer has now become one of the most prevalent malignancies in women.With the continuous improvement of medical treatment in China,the five-year survival rate of breast cancer patients after diagnosis has reached 89%.After receiving treatment for breast cancer,a series of problems such as the lack of breasts brought about by surgery,the cosmetic changes brought about by post-operative chemotherapy,the fear of death and financial pressure cause patients serious negative emotions and physical discomfort,which affect their normal lives.To this end,this paper uses narrative therapy to alleviate the negative emotions of female breast cancer patients in order to draw more attention to the negative emotions of female breast cancer patients and help them regain confidence in their lives.This study takes a woman with mid-stage breast cancer in Si ping City’s H community as an example,and uses narrative therapy as a professional guide to address the negative emotions of breast cancer patients based on social construction theory and social support theory.The social worker used the case service skills to participate in the narrative of the client’s life,and through in-depth interviews,gained an objective understanding of the client,summarized the problems of the client and explored their causes.The analysis of the problems in the study revealed that the caseworker had the ability to "face up to the problem itself and alleviate negative emotions","strengthen emotional control and establish good communication","increase the meaning of life and realize the value of life " and "to be brave enough to go out of the house and participate in social interaction".Therefore,this study uses therapeutic techniques such as problem externalization and the search for exceptional events to assist the client in uncovering and reconstructing her own life experiences and finding the bright spots in her life.At the same time,the testimonies of loved ones are used to reinforce a new life story.The aim is to help clients find meaning in their lives,alleviate negative emotions,establish good communication with their families and walk out the door with courage and confidence.The aim of this study is to explore the strategies used by social workers in using narrative therapy to alleviate the negative emotions of female breast cancer patients.The study found that the client changed from "I have lost faith in life" to "I can overcome the disease",and finally the client was able to face her problem,alleviate her negative emotions,find meaning and value in life,and face her future life with a positive attitude. |
