The incidence of breast cancer is increasing year by year,and the population of breast cancer patients has also received more and more attention in the medical and social fields.Breast cancer patients not only need to face physical defects after the operation,but also a series of psychological and physiological problems.In particular,patients with advanced breast cancer are more likely to face an incomplete body,expensive follow-up treatment costs,and even death itself,all of which can bring negative emotions and lead to mental stress.In recent years,being a social worker,how to intervene in the group of breast cancer patients,provide them with professional help in order to reflect the value concept of social workers' humanistic care and unique professional value,has been the focus and hot topic in the field of medical social workers.Based on the internship experience of Jiangsu Province Hospital,combined with the current development status and practical possibility of medical social workers,from the perspective of individual intervention,this paper explores the intervention process and effect of case work for patients with advanced breast cancer.By studying on long-term tracking and typical cases of patients with advanced breast cancer,relying on the case of service process to make depth interviews on clients,utilizing perspective and advantages of professional social work to provide psychological support for patients and their families and solve their practical difficulties and problems,which can make them rationally treat their own situation and reduce the emergence of mental stress.This study aims to present and summarize the whole practical process of this case service,explore the role of social workers in the process of intervention,and the specific choices and application of communication skills and their effects.Based on Ellis's ABC emotion theory,energy growth theory and social support theory,this study chose depth interview and participant observation to analyze the intervention strategy and its effect of typical case work from the practical level.Through case study,the author has summarized the common problems and different conditions of mental pressure at different treatment stages for the patients with advanced breast cancer(whose life expectancy is greater than 6 months),and continuously adjust and improved the intervention plan according to the demands of clients.Finally,the author reviewed and concluded the whole intervention process,and put forward the pertinent countermeasure analysis and suggestion.
