Research On Influencing Factors Of Charity And Public Welfare Behavior Of College Students

Since the 18 th CPC National Congress,in order to promote the strategy of comprehensively governing the country by law,China has deepened the reform of the legislative system.The Charity Law has become the first basic law reviewed and passed by the plenary session.The decision proposed that the state and government should attach importance to the role of the third distribution,so that charity and other social welfare undertakings can play a better role,and improve the system of public welfare and charity activities.In order to better play the role of the third distribution,the state and the government need to coordinate and improve social assistance,social welfare,charity,preferential treatment and other social security related systems.Charitable undertakings and voluntary services are public welfare undertakings,with strong positive externalities,and have a lot of benefits for promoting social equity and improving people’s happiness.In China,the social security system is formulated according to the principle of "efficiency priority,fairness consideration".As the government takes economic development as the first priority of social development,the insufficient funds invested in social security result in the unsatisfactory coverage and level of social security in China.As China’s social security is mandatory,universal,welfare and social equity,the government alone cannot take care of the interests of individuals.However,charity and volunteer services can selectively help vulnerable groups,thus expanding the scope of social security assistance and redistributing social resources in a more efficient and accurate way.In 2014,an executive meeting of the State Council pointed out that public welfare and charity undertakings and China’s social security system are complementary and need to form synergy in solving social problems.Therefore,the charity behavior of college students plays a vital role in the development of college students themselves,the society and the country.The research on college students’ charity behavior is helpful to accelerate the development speed of our spiritual civilization,carry forward the values of Chinese traditional excellent culture,and provide direction for our country to realize the all-round construction of a modern socialist country and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.It can also promote the construction of campus culture and give play to the leading role of campus as a place for college students to study and live.Promote the development of campus public welfare organizations,improve college students’ outlook on life and values,improve college students’ awareness of public welfare and charity,attract more students to participate in the construction of a harmonious campus work;It also helps to improve the enthusiasm of college students to participate in public welfare and charity activities.College students are a special group of people who have more free time.They can use the time to participate in public welfare and charity activities,which can not only enrich their life after study,but also make more friends and get to know the society in advance.This article through to the Kunming 8 colleges and universities a total of more than 800 college students of charity behavior questionnaire survey,combined with the current status of college students’ charitable public welfare development in our country,analyzes the present situation of Kunming university community philanthropy,charity from college students attitude and perceived behavior control,moral norms,charity and charity emotional five angles to explore the influence factors of college students’ behavior of charity,and then put forward to promote college students the thinking of public welfare charity,in order to improve university student’s consciousness of charity and philanthropy.Based on literature research and empirical research,this paper get the following findings:(1)in general,college students in Kunming,public welfare charity behavior intention is stronger,on average,the volunteer service time is slightly higher than the national average level,but also exist in college students to understand the concept of charity does not reach the designated position,relevant skills shortages,low service quality problems.(2)Demographic variables such as gender,grade,average monthly living cost and whether to participate in public welfare organizations have significant differences in college students’ public welfare and charitable behavior intentions,and charitable attitude,perceived behavior control,happiness and charitable concept have a significant impact on college students’ public welfare and charitable behavior.Besides materialism has a negative impact,the other dimensions have a positive impact on college students’ public welfare and charity behavior.Therefore,if we want to improve the charity behavior of college students,we should first improve their willingness to charity.In order to enhance the willingness of college students to charity,colleges and universities should improve their charitable attitude,give positive feedback to college students,increase their sense of happiness in study and life,and guide their charitable concept.In addition,efforts should be made to build a good base for college students’ public welfare and charity activities--public welfare student organizations.In summary,combined with the analysis of the current situation of college students’ public welfare and charity behavior,four countermeasures to promote college students’ public welfare and charity behavior are put forward.One is to strengthen the value identification of students’ public welfare and charity;Second,break the traditional concept of charity,expand the channels for college students to participate in charity;Thirdly,to increase the positive emotional experience of college students’ participation in public welfare and charity activities;The fourth is to cultivate the individual altruism tendency of college students.
