College Students’ Online Political Participation And Its Influential Factors

The rapid popularization and wide application of the mobile Internet have brought tremendous changes to our daily life.The arrival of the mobile Internet has changed the traditional mode of political participation in China,and online political inquiry has become the most convenient way to participate.Network political participation,a new way of political participation,has broadened the breadth and depth of political participation to a certain extent.College students in the new era are the main force of Internet use,with strong enthusiasm for political participation and certain political participation skills,the ability of college students to participate in Internet politics has a profound impact on the overall level of political participation of the society.Based on this,this article according to the theory of participatory democracy and establish a research framework,the reference group theory as the theoretical basis to select part of the college students in anhui province as the research sample questionnaire for empirical analysis,using the data of the questionnaire data analysis software integration and processing,to explore what factors affect college students’ network political participation behavior,Then,the existing problems in college students’ online political participation are sorted out and improvement measures are put forward.This paper mainly carries out research from three parts.First of all,on the basis of domestic and foreign literature research,this study further sorts out and defines the concepts related to college students’ online political participation.At the same time,combined with the reference group theory and participatory democracy theory,it constructs the measurement indicators of influencing factors and establishes research hypotheses on this basis,which lays the foundation for the following development.Secondly,through the integration and processing of the questionnaire data,the research finds that the online political participation of college students in Anhui Province presents the characteristics of high degree of participation and willingness to participate,diverse content and ways of political participation,and positive participation motivation.On the basis of the status analysis,this paper uses interaction analysis,factor analysis,correlation analysis and linear regression analysis to verify the influencing factors mentioned above.The results show that there is a significant positive correlation between peer group and political efficacy on the three dimensions of political participation of information acquisition,opinion exchange and action expression.Online opinion leaders only have a significant positive correlation with interactive participation behaviors,while political status,online time,education level and gender of individual factors have a significant impact on some online political participation behaviors.Finally,the empirical data are combined to explore the problems in college students’ online political participation.The research shows that college students’ online political participation still has some problems,such as shallow participation,short duration of participation,significant entertainment tendency,and irrational participation behavior.To solve these problems the author from the government response capacity,the network environment,college students three aspects to carry on the analysis,thought the main cause of these problems is the network anonymity weakens college students lack of sense of responsibility,the government information disclosure and the uneven interests expression channels,lack of college students’ political voice,participation,lack of literacy,etc.Finally accordingly put forward the implementation of college students’ network political participation real-name system,perfecting the legal system construction,improve information disclosure system,establish and improve the construction of electronic government affairs,to set up the participation leading mechanism,establish correct political view,regulating the behavior of the network political participation,political participation to promote college students’ network performance show adequately.
