Language,culture and communication are three extremely important concepts in foreign language teaching.How to balance the relationships of the three,is a vital issue that should be considered in foreign language teaching.The Performed Culture Approach will combine language,culture and communication,take culture as the core of teaching,and aim at cultivating students’ communicative ability in the target language environment,taking “perform” as the main form of learning,this teaching method can strengthen students’ cross-cultural communication consciousness and capability.This teaching design is the Chinese majors from Grade 2,Bannasan School,Surat Thani province in southern Thailand as teaching object.The author has conducted a complete online teaching practice in The Performed Culture Approach.This teaching design includes two curriculum types,“fact teaching” and “act teaching”.In the end,the author has evaluated and analyzed this teaching design.This paper is divided into four parts:Chapter Ⅰ is introduction.It introduces and illustrates the research background,the importance for the selection topic,current research situation,the main research content and research technique.Chapter Ⅱ is the summary of the Performed Culture Approach and its feasibility analysis in online intermediate Chinese comprehensive courses.First,it illustrates the origin and development,connotation and principles,teaching mode and characteristics of the Performed Culture Approach.Then,from the own features of the Performed Culture Approach,the author analyses feasibility from the two aspects of intermediate Chinese comprehensive courses and online teaching.Chapter Ⅲ is the main body of the teaching design of online intermediate Chinese comprehensive courses based on the Performed Culture Approach.First,the author analyzed the teaching elements such as teaching environment,teaching objects,teaching materials and online teaching platforms.Then,the author determined the teaching objectives,teaching focus and difficulties,teaching arrangement according to the teaching content.At last,the teaching flow of One minute and 27 seconds in the elevator is displayed.Chapter Ⅳ is the evaluation and reflection on the teaching design.The author has evaluated the teaching design and effect of “perform” according to students’ score,questionnaire and feedback of interview,then make teaching reflection,seek the deficiencies of the teaching design,in the end,put forward some improvement suggestions about the deficiencies.
