| Professor Wen Qiufang from Beijing Foreign Studies University has proposed a theoretical system called "Production-oriented Approach" to address the phenomenon of "separation of learning and use" in online Chinese teaching.It is applied to the practice of teaching Chinese as a foreign language online.The Output-Oriented Approach emphasises the achievement of learning outcomes through the completion of tasks and learning objectives,enabling students to apply the knowledge and skills they have learnt to real-life situations.This approach places the learner at the centre and designs teaching and learning activities from the student’s point of view,using objectives as a guide.The output-oriented approach can be applied to any language teaching,but learners in integrated Chinese classes often face a range of learning barriers and difficulties as they move into the intermediate level.For example: insufficient Chinese listening and speaking skills to express themselves accurately;weak grammatical skills to express themselves correctly;weak communicative skills to communicate effectively with others;insufficient Chinese communicative skills to use various skills to communicate with people in authentic contexts,etc.In response to these problems,the output-oriented approach proposes corresponding teaching methods and strategies.In this paper,we use Lesson 7 of Developing Chinese as a Second Language(I)as an example to design and reflect on the teaching and learning of "generosity" in China.The paper is divided into four chapters,which are as follows.The first chapter introduces the background of the research and the significance of this topic,explains the current research status of the output-oriented approach,the design of teaching Chinese as a foreign language,intermediate Chinese integrated courses and online teaching Chinese as a foreign language,and explains the research methodology of this paper.Chapter 2 provides an overview of the output-oriented approach,introducing the three major teaching concepts,the three major teaching assumptions and the specific teaching process of the output-oriented approach,and analyzing the operability and advantages of the output-oriented approach in the online teaching of Chinese as a second language.Chapter 3 presents the design of the online teaching scheme of the output-oriented method for the intermediate Chinese Integrated Course.It analyses the teaching elements and relevant factors of the teaching design,including teaching objectives,teaching contents,teaching priorities,teaching environment,teaching objects and teaching materials,designs the three teaching links-driving link,enabling link and evaluation link,and finally Implementing the teaching process.Evaluation and reflection on the teaching process.Through questionnaires and interviews,we evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning,reflect on the shortcomings of the teaching process,and improve the application of the output-oriented method in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. |
