Total Physical Response is an important teaching method summarized by Asher based on the theory of children’s first language acquisition,humanistic psychology and "memory trace" theory after a lot of observation and experimental research.Total Physical Response advocates the teacher to conduct teaching through body movements.It has three main characteristics:comprehensible,situational and interest.These three aspects are not only the characteristics of Total Physical Response in teaching,but also its own advantages.Applying Total Physical Response to the online teaching design of elementary Chinese comprehensive course can make up for the deficiency existing in the online teaching.According to Total Physical Response,the author takes the Chinese Australia and Chinese New Zealand as the teaching object,and takes the Lesson 12 "You Wear Too Little " in the "HSK Standard Course(Ⅱ)" as the teaching content to carry out the online teaching design.The author hopes to design effective methods suitable for online teaching to improve the teaching ability of online teaching.stimulate learners’ interest in learning Chinese,create a relaxed and pleasant learning atmosphere,and ultimately improve learning efficiency.After the teaching practice,the problems in the teaching process are evaluated and reflected,so as to provide reference and inspiration for the online teaching in future.This paper consists of four chapters:Chapter 1:the introduction,which mainly introduces the research background,research significance,research status,research ideas and methods of instructional design based on systemic response method;Chapter 2:the theoretical interpretation of Total Physical Response,including the theoretical basis,teaching principles,teaching modes and teaching steps of Total Physical Response,as well as the feasibility analysis of the application of Total Physical Response in the online elementary Chinese comprehensive course;Chapter 3:the online teaching design of the course "You Wear Too Little" is based on Total Physical Response,including the analysis of relevant elements of teaching design,online teaching process and design ideas;Chapter 4:reflection on the teaching design and put forward relevant suggestions for improvement.
