A Study On The Internship Of MTCSOL Students In Some Shanghai Universities Under The Background Of COVID-19

Educational internship is an important part of the MTCSOL（Masters of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages）training link.In 2020,the sudden outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic caused a big shock to TCSOL Industry.As overseas internships were blocked,MTCSOL students can only take the way of domestic educational internship.Such a situation has brought great impact on the professional education internship of MTCSOL.This study conducted a comprehensive survey on the internship of MTCSOL students under the COVID-19 pandemic,and trying to truly reflect the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on the education internship of MTCSOL,find out the problems,and put forward my own suggestions for the education internship of MTCSOL in the post-pandemic era.This paper takes 2019 full-time MTCSOL students from eight universities in Shanghai as the survey object,and uses the methods of questionnaire and interview to investigate their domestic educational internship.Through 102 valid questionnaires and more than 20,000 word interview records of 10 MTCSOL students in different internship positions,this study analyzes the domestic educational internship situation of MTCSOL students.The results show that the COVID-19 pandemic has had a certain impact on MTCSOL student’s choice of education internship methods,the attitude towards of the major and the future career planning,and also made new changes in the types of domestic internship posts and the distribution of internship posts.Under the background of the COVID-19 pandemic,most MTCSOL students carry out their educational internship in non-professional counterpart positions,and the educational internship situation of MTCSOL students in different positions is different,so that the problems encountered in internship are also different.Generally speaking,there are some problems in domestic educational internship,such as inappropriate internship positions,inconsistent internship contents,lack of internship guidance and single source of internship evaluation.In addition to the personal factors of interns,the root causes of these problems are more from the current mode of MTCSOL educational internship.Various problems in the survey show that under the background of the epidemic,the existing educational internship mode is no longer in line with the current situation of domestic educational internship.Based on the problems found in the survey,this paper puts forward some thoughts and suggestions for improving the quality of educational internship and promoting the better development of educational internship from the perspective of educational internship mode and MTCSOL students individual: 1.In terms of educational internship mode,it is necessary to optimize the old internship goals and cultivate "specialists +generalists" who can adapt to different positions.At the same time,on the basis of adjusting the internship objectives,the internship standards are clarified to achieve the specific operational standards.In addition,it is necessary to strengthen internship supervision to ensure that internship guidance is put into internship.Finally,it is necessary to further improve the way of internship evaluation and realize the diversified development of internship evaluation subjects.2.Personally,interns need to strengthen their professional skills,enrich their knowledge system,and constantly improve their reflective ability in the process of internship.
